"These cabins have a rustic look, but are updated and clean. They are small- a family of 5 is about the limit, but they did enclose the covered porches this year and that provided additional space. Note that there is no washer or dryer available, so you will need to hit the laundromat if you are staying for an extended time. Rachel is very good at communication so that helps a lot. Would highly recommend."

"The Blue Spruce is a fully updated home. It is very nicely done- just don't expect the rustic look of the cabins that are closer to the lake. This was our second year at Thayer Lake Resort and we were there with our kids and grandkids, who stayed in the smaller cabins. We REALLY appreciated having the washer and dryer available with for all those kid clothes, bathing suits and towels. The kids also loved the hot tub after an hour or two in the lake. Rachel is very good a communication and responsive in getting our schedule adjusted slightly when needed. Would highly recommend."

"The cottage was very well kept and cosy. The furniture was beautiful and the master bedroom bed was very comfortable. The view of the lake from the cottage was so peaceful and relaxing. The lake itself tended to be weedy and mucky by the dock. This was no problem for adults but maybe small children would not like the muck and weeds. My only suggestion would be a railing to hang on to by the small step into the cottage. My elderly husband had a little trouble managing it with no handrail. All in all I would recommend this cabin to adults who come to relax and fish and enjoy the beautiful view."

"Beariful, comfortable, ean and spacious cabin. We traveled with 4 adults and one child for 4 nights. Thayer lake is just a very short walk away. Torch lake does have a few public access spots nearby, but not anything decent. The best public beach on Torch lake is on the other side of the lake. Ran into a few minor issues at the cabin, such as no extra batteries for the smoke detector, no bowls for cooking, need a toaster that works, and the hot water had to be fixed. Great coffee selection and a nice Keurig, but zero tea options, sadly. Would absolutely recommend the place and would stay there again."

"We had a great stay at Thayer lake cabin! It is so charming and cozy. It had plenty of space for relaxing and lounging both inside and outdoors. The cabin is close to public access points to Torch Lake and close to the cute shops in Alden. It is secluded yet close enough to attractions. Alden ball park beach access was great for taking a dip in the lake before we checked in and we enjoyed the nature area down the street as well. The weather didn’t cooperate for a lake day so we got pizza from Village Market and had a fun night in. Great stay!"

"We had a great time on the property and Thayer Lake. The hammock was pretty old and frail which made it hard to lay on and the water in the cabin is rusty since it's using a well but still not a deal breaker by any means. Canoeing and kayaking on Thayer lake was very peaceful and relaxing."
