A West Texas Gem

My wife and I decided to stay at the 10 Bits Ranch not really knowing what to expect. It was an outstanding and unique experience. Checking in and check out was organized and the charm of Old West town was apparent. Note that the Ranch is 2 miles off the main highway on a County Road but that wasn’t much of a problem. The sunsets and stars were unbelievable and a trip up to the Apache Cave was not something you would find at a Holiday Inn. Thanks to Cowboy and Sis for creating this gem in the desert.

Sanctuary from the cold

I booked this property last minute due to winter weather and I wish I could have stayed longer! The ranch was beautiful and close to Terlingua and the National Park. Super clean and it looked like an amazing spot for a group stay.

Fun Experience

Our Stay at Ten Bits was great. The room was comfortable and clean, the group use Cantina was a social interaction spot and that added a lot to the experience. Some of the cooking utensils and ranges are in need of minor upgrades but otherwise, it was a very functional kitchen. We would happily stay there again.

Totally off the beaten path but worth it. Great little cabins setup like an old west town. Nestled in the mountains north of terlingua, complete with a shared use kitchen and dining area. Outside you are surrounded by mountains and the sunset was amazing. Truly a dark sky property the stars where truly amazing. We sat around the fire pits and met new folks as well. Awesome place. Just remember to bring your own chow and firewood.

Wonderful setting in the desert!

We only stayed one night. We came in when it was dark and left to head to Big Bend at first light. We didn’t utilize all the amenities on offer. I can say that I loved the rustic western town theme of this ranch. It was very quiet and dark which just added to the rustic feel. My only complaint, and not really sure if I can call it that due to the setting, was that the room was really dusty. We dropped a suitcase on the rug and it poofed up with dirt. You could feel the dirt on the floors. Now again, I’m not sure how you avoid this given the dirt roads and desert setting but the dust was caked on all the fixtures pretty heavily. Other than that, the stay was fine.

Nice place, not for me

I wish I would’ve known more about exact location and conditions. Too isolated, not somebody to rely on in property for any emergencies, no phone coverage unless you connect to internet. It’s just me, I don’t like to sleep in the middle of the desert , isolated.
