Located on the North Bank of the River Severn in a lovely quiet village called Buildwas this brand-new private cottage offers a luxury self-catering escape for couples on the grounds of the owner’s own home. Stepping inside guests enter the modern open-plan living, dining and fully equipped kitchen, complete with rustic wooden furniture. The space is light and airy and has plenty of space for two. There is a dining table for four which connects the kitchen and living room for romantic evenings. The living room has a comfy sofa, a flatscreen smart TV and plenty of space to socialise.
Whether curling up with a book, watching your favourite programmes on TV, or simply enjoying a glass of wine, this space is perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Upstairs leads into a second living room where you will find an area to work, with a small office desk if needs be. There’s a fabulous Emma sofa bed if you’re bringing the children along too. Another place to also sit with a good book or snuggle up and watch a good movie on a second Smart TV. Off the second living room is a stunning king-size bedroom with an Emma bed and En-suite bathroom, offering a walk-in double shower and views out across the garden and into the coppice where you may see fallow deer. There’s a lovely garden to the rear of the property, which is well-maintained and a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the views.
Fallow’s Holt benefits from the tranquillity of rural Shropshire, yet only a ten-minute drive from all that Ironbridge and the Gorge has to offer. It’s difficult to believe this picturesque large village was once the centre of the industrial world, and now tourism is the most precious resource. The many museums trace Ironbridge’s history and the ’Iron Bridge’ itself is a reminder of its importance. Ironbridge has a wonderful cluster of craft and souvenir shops, some great bars and restaurants, and no less than ten museums spread along the banks of the River Severn. Or Shrewsbury which will certainly supply plenty to get you thinking, much of it within a short stroll.
The theatre Severn is well worth a visit, though be sure to see what’s on beforehand, so you’re not disappointed. Or why not catch a film at the independent cinema in the historic hall, screening the latest releases, with a cool, vaulted café-bar? There’s an abundance of cafés, wine bars, award-winning restaurants, coffee shops and pubs galore to discover. Quarry Park is home to the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show. Visit the National Trust’s stately Attingham Park, an elegant 18th-century mansion. Or why not discover even further the castle and excellent restaurants of Ludlow?

Rob was very welcoming and helpful.
Rob was very welcoming and helpful. The location is rural but there are amenities not too far away. The accommodation is lovely well appointed and modern, it’s very peaceful and quiet. There are lots of places in Shropshire nearby to visit, we did Ludlow, Shrewsbury and ironbridge the swan at ironbridge did a lovely Sunday lunch. Shrewsbury was maybe a bit commercialised these days and we’d maybe go to church stretton or Bridgnorth next visit instead. All told it’s a lovely accommodation and well placed for exploring the area. We’d certainly consider a revisit!
