Set across three floors, the property has been recently redecorated and thoughtfully furnished to provide a comfortable and stylish stay. On the top floor, you’ll find two inviting bedrooms—a double room and a bunk room (best suited for children under 12)—alongside a modern shower room.
The first floor is designed for relaxing and socialising, with a cosy lounge featuring a flat-screen TV (including Amazon Prime and catch-up services), a fold-down dining table for up to four, and a well-equipped kitchen. From here, step into a sunny courtyard - perfect for al fresco dining or a morning coffee. A convenient additional WC is also located on this floor.
On the ground floor, a practical storage area includes a washing machine, picnic hamper, and cool bag, ideal for days out at nearby Shaldon or Ness Tunnel Beach.
Guests also benefit from a private covered parking space right outside the front door, plus additional free on-street parking.

The cottage is just a short walk from Shaldon’s welcoming pubs, cafés, and independent shops, and is perfectly placed to explore local highlights such as the Shaldon Wildlife Trust and the nearby 9 hole 'pitch n putt' golf course. Seasonal events like the village regatta and water carnival both in August make it a favourite destination for returning visitors.

Lovely cottage with a very friendly host. This property is in a really good location and the on site parking was a bonus. It was very well equipped with everything you’d need. The local Shaldon bakery has some lovely cakes too!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this delightful little terrace. Beautifully done out and with everything you need. Close to lovely estuary walks and the great Georgian village with its many pubs, cafes and independent shops. Abi the host responded promptly to any messages - a 5 star stay for sure.
Lovely cottage, very clean, great location / area. I had travelled through before this time & enjoyed Ness Cove & Smugglers tunnel. Took the ferry across toTeignmouth, brilliant! Took a detour to A La Ronde on way home- recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
We had a very enjoyable stay at the cottage. Everything was within an easy walking distance or short car ride. Saltwater cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We travelled to Teignmouth via the ferry which took about 5 minutes to cross over. We also took the scenic train route up the coast. Would definitely stay again.
Comfortable cottage with all the necessary amenities and an undercover parking bay. Well placed in a lovely Georgian village overlooking the river Teign and out sea. Easy to explore the surrounding countryside, beaches and Teignmouth. The shops in the village provide all your basic needs for a great holiday and there are several good pubs/restaurants as well. All very quaint.
We stayed at Saltwater over the Christmas period and was able to enjoy all that Shaldon has to offer at this time of year.Saltwater was a great property for the two of us. It is in an ideal position with its own parking (which is a must in the village), close to the centre and all the activity. It was an ideal size for us, spotlessly clean and decorated for Christmas for our arrival- which was a very nice touch.Thank you!
Nice smart property conveniently located and well equipped. Only draw back was the traffic noise as we had not realised how busy the road at the front of the property was.
A very enjoyable out of season break avoiding the summer crowds. Only two of us plus the dog, so the cottage was more than adequate and very well located within easy walk of the beach plus a brilliant butchers and village store. A big plus is the undercroft parking as parking is an issue in the village even out of season. Cottage is well equipped and ideal for self catering. The local pubs are ok but not as good out of season. Overall a lovely break for both of us.
Staying in the lovely cottage in Shaldon was an absolute delight! The accommodation itself is excellent and close to amenities. The village boasts a bakery, inviting pubs, and the fantastic Clipper restaurant, ensuring there's never a shortage of delicious dining options. Additionally, the short walk to Teignmouth provided ample opportunities to explore the pier, browse quaint shops, indulge in cozy cafes, and even take a scenic ferry back to Shaldon, making it a truly memorable and picturesque getaway. Shaldon Zoo was also a great way to spend a few hours. We didn’t use the car the whole time we were there either so racked up quite a few steps, which was another bonus! Would highly recommend to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat in a beautiful setting!
Lovely cottage on edge of village with short stroll to all amenities plus the beach. Everything needed was provided at the cottage and a big bonus is the undercroft parking. Two bathrooms also helps!
Lovely, cosy cottage with everything we needed. Sheldon is a beautiful village where there are a few local shops and places to eat and drink. We visited the Ness caves which were only a short walk from the cottage and Teignmouth where there are lots of shops and a long beach front. Local park near by which was ideal for the children, also having the parking space was very beneficial. We look forward to our next visit. X
Everything we needed for our short break car parking a bonus we never used the car . Ferry and bus close by train station in Teignmouth, and places to eat nearby . The cottage was lovely and clean with everything we needed for our stay.
The house was as described online with everything we needed for our stay of 7 nights. Parking space is great ,we parked the car on arrival and never used it again until we left! Fabulous location with some excellent cafes. shops, pubs close by. Highly recommend for couples.
We were extremely pleased with the property, very clean and everything supplied for our stay. One small suggestion some kind of shower caddy is needed - no where to put shower gel, shampoo etc except on the floor of the shower.
This property was very presented, in a perfect location. Everything is accessible on foot, so our car stayed parked on driveway. There are lots of lovely walks and plenty of welcoming dog friendly pubs & cafes to stop at. We thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing mini break

Lovely location, parked car and didn't use it till we came home.
A super property in a super place. Shaldon is a Devon delight, close enough to everything you want and far enough away from everything you don’t. Saltwater comes perfectly equipped for a relaxing stay - clean, contemporary with classic touches and nothing to disturb you other than the early-rising seagulls.
A great cottage for a short stay with a young family. Communication was great with the hosts and they were so accommodating. Having a parking space in Shaldon was a real bonus too. Bunk bed room is as described, not suitable once children are over 12 or so. Our son is 12 now and it was a squeeze in the bunks but fine for only a few nights. I’d say ideal children under 10 but lots of stairs so take stair gates. Towels were a bit musty, so I wish I’d have taken our own and things like hand soaps dispensers weren’t filled so ran out, no bin bags & also lots of cobwebs but overall it was great.

Nicely decorated, well equipped and convenient location
We loved our stay here. The location is very convenient and the parking space is a definite bonus in Shaldon. The house is very well equipped. The children loved the bunk room with play tent. We particularly liked the ground floor utility room where we could leave wet and sandy beach gear.
The house is simply and tastefully furnished in a seaside style and the owners really have put a lot of thought into equipping it to make it a home from home.
There are several good shops and cafes in Shaldon, the village has an upmarket feel to it. We liked the cafe by the beach for a morning coffee whilst watching the mist clear from the water. The smugglers tunnel to the other beach at Ness Cove was a hit with the children. Would love to stay again!
