On the way to the location was told grass hadn’t been mowed and I really thought before we got there that could’ve been done ( but No ... if ya can’t see what’s hiding in the grass ; it’s too tall ) reached the cabin after backroads and GPS taking me in circles for 2.5 hours and had no clue the only tiny spot to see of Lake is not much !! Supposed boat dock was nowhere in sight ( shouldn’t even be listed to be honest ) , WiFi barely worked , then about 2 -3 hours after arrival the electric shut off for about 15-20 mins. The refrigerator was warm even on lowest setting and wasn’t told there’s no grocery store within 30 miles . Wasn’t too prepared on food . What food I did bring was getting warm & quick . The two upper floors were soooo HOT , you couldn’t have slept on those floors . The basement was like cold enough to store meat . The water from sinks , tubs and shower smelled like sewer !! My daughter took a shower and had worse smell on her skin !!! Needless to say when electric went out and we had no cell service , we left QUICKLY. Then had to wing our way out til GPS kicked in on phones due to being nowhere near civilization!!! NOT HAPPY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Ok so i can say it was a nice little cabin and this was me and my family first time staying in one but when we got there everything was okay it was a few lady bugs but when night came the lady bugs took over it was so many of them you couldn’t even eat your food cause they would be flying everywhere and soon as we seen that we call the company and was on the phone with them for hours trying to get in touch with the owner it was so bad til we had to get another place the next day omg it was crazy and now the owner doesn’t want to give us a refund for the days we didn’t stay there

We loved the location. Very serene and relaxing. However the inside was another story. The doors aren’t sealed well so there were large spiders and crickets everyday. And a large infestation of lady bugs. That was strange. The couch was filthy and stained. The tables in the kitchen, dining, and living room were all still dirty from the previous guests. Also the fridge was never cleaned out. The kitchen cabinets were broken. And there was black mold in the basement walls. The basement was unfit for our kids to stay in so we kept them upstairs. Some extra TLC and care would go a long way to make this place more fit for visitors.

It needs a few curtains in the living room. And the grill needs to be upgraded. Half of the grill it doesn't work. But besides that it was nice.

Well supplied kitchen, cute basement for kiddos, great common space for hanging out. Loved the sectional for watching movies and chatting. Only issue we had was miscommunication with the check in. Evolve (booking service) didn’t let our cleaning crew/property manager know we were checking in. The cleaning lady quickly helped us. Came and let us in the cabin and changed the code for us. So overall the check in process wasn’t smooth. But the space was just as advertised. The property needs some simple repairs but overall it was a great fit for a short weekend with friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We were visiting family in Tazewell. This house had plenty of room for four of us to sleep. We loved the open concept. House was well stocked. We had no problems at all with wifi but cell service was spotty depending on carrier, which we did expect as we were up in the mountains. This is a large home in a quiet area, truly a get away spot.

Got to Check in early(huge plus) owner great with communication, beautiful clean cabin, and good view. Few mishaps, owners willing to help! Down stairs area is nicer in person then the pictures. (Our favorite spot to hang out with our 2 year old) and the bunk beds were the most comfortable spot in the house. My husband and I slept in a bunk with the baby. I’m so glad we took a chance and ignored the bad reviews on Vrbo. Only thing is they should list cameras on the porch. That was very uncomfortable but we just put socks over them, we turned down another cabin because of cameras so I wish I knew. Also isn’t toddler friendly, but a gate on the porch and adding to the top banisters of basement would fix that. We stuffed pillows so he wouldn’t fall through. And he was fine. But other than that it was awesome! adventurous drive to the cabin !!! Loved the steep climb! ATV,UTV Friendly community! If we knew would have brought our toys! Big plus ! And trails on the mountain! We would definitely book this place again. Nice to have owners that are understanding and work with us! . The wood work is so beautiful and very different from our life in Florida! Nice to have this scenery on the porch !

House was very spacious with room for variety of activities and groups. Younger adults had the basement, mom and dad got the living room. Great outdoor porch and fire pit. Extremely private.

House is great and quiet. Never did figure out where the boat slip was. We just put our boat in at Straight creek marina. Seemed easier anyway.

10/10

Cabin was outstanding with plenty of sleeping and dining area. Slip was easy to find and very quiet. I will definitely schedule this home for future vacations.

Lovely spot with amazing views. If you aren't use to or wanting a rural vacation then I wouldn't pick this place. My only discomforts were the this mattress and the water. Overall it's a beautiful place with lots of space for a big family. I would definitely try to get there during the day and hit a store before heading up the mountain.

The location of the cabin was a bit tricky but over all it was a great stay. My children loved the area to run and play while we hung out at the cabin.

4/10

I read the other reviews and made the mistake of assuming the issues would have been fix. The first issue we encountered was the smell of grease when we opened the door. We found the the oven was extremely dirty and could not be used, this created a problem because we planned on cooking Easter dinner. The second issue was the insect problem. This cabin is in the wood, but does not explain why there are wasp in the cabin and when unfolding we found dead bugs in the blankets. The third issue was the post advertised a jacuzzi tub, but this tub was inoperable because you could not plug the drain. With any cabin a person can expect to be using well water, this well may be high in sulfur judging off the smell of the water. The last issue is the water filter in the fridge has a leak and causes water to pool up at the bottom of the fridge. Use caution if you have a bee allergy, carpenter bee are currently attempting to create a in the siding causing the deck unusable during the daytime.

Clean, plenty of space, good communication! Only thing we were surprised by was that you have to drive to the dock. But it’s very close. We probably missed that in the description or something. Would love to come back.

The cabin overall was relaxing and close to what we expected. If you read older reviews about the road issues, the main road appears to be fixed. The house was clean and downstairs beds were comfortable. Our only minor furniture issues were the comfort of the upstairs (loft) bed, and the outside table is no longer there. There were some minor appliance issues but a repair person had been called and I believe those will be addressed before the next visitors. On the plus side, there was a fire pit which I didn't recall seeing in the description (would have been a bonus had we known), plus the kids games, TV's, Satellite and wifi were all excellent. The cabin was large and spacious, with nice decks, grill and a narrow but scenic view of the lake. We would definitely consider coming back.

Nice getaway cabin with lots of privacy. Positives: great setup for a family vacation, basement room setup perfect for kids, large deck space with views of the lake, nice kitchen with good appliances Negatives: location is difficult to get to with a boat (steep grades), driveway is very tight for maneuvering a boat trailer, bed mattresses were worn out/ sag to the middle, house is in need of some general maintenance, well water odors (Hot-sulfur, Cold - metallic) Summary: Plan your arrival/ departure carefully if bringing a boat as even getting an empty trailer parked on the property is difficult (community docks have alternative parking and seemed secure). Otherwise, the house is good for a fun lake getaway. It’s a cabin in the woods and is on par with what you would expect. We had a great time and would return again.

Main road for cabin had multiple erosion areas and soft / rough gravel areas which is dangerous. Even off the the driveway to the cabin which is on the hill which is extreme! Besides that cabin is nice and clean and go to get away. Would visit again but once the road is repaired!

This is a beautiful cabin with a great view the trip to this cabin had my stomach in knots I’m from indiana and not used the the sharp turns and steep hills I had to contact James for an issue during my stay he was so nice the area down stairs is a kids dream

Perfect cool cabin after a warm day on the lake. Plenty of comfortable living space for the whole family. Nice deck for the morning coffee while enjoying the lake view. We are 2nd time visitors and will be back to Dreamhaven next year.

Lovely house. Just make sure you have good brakes because this place is up high in the hills with a lot of sharp turns.

I gave this rental the benefit of doubt based on other reviews. Other reviews mention cleanliness, pests, and maintenance issues. I assumed these issues would have been resolved, but they were not. I agree with other reviewer’s sentiments that this cabin “has a lot of potential”, but it falls short of acceptable in certain areas. We loved the size, layout, style, and views. However, we did not appreciate several other aspects. The first thing we noticed were the broken beds on the main level. The wooden slats were broken that hold the mattresses in both main floor bedrooms. This caused us to sink into the bed and made for a terrible night’s sleep. We didn’t notice this until 12am, so we didn’t want to call or wait on maintenance. The second issue was insects and rodents. I wouldn’t consider myself to be a picky person, but I drew the line when I found dead insects and mouse poop under the covers of one of the kid’s bunk beds. Once the kid’s saw it they wouldn’t go near the bunk beds and slept on the couch. We also visually saw mice run across the floor. The final straw was when we found a snake near the kid’s bunk beds the second night! I was able to kill and discard the snake before the kids saw it. If they had seen it, they probably wouldn’t have slept in the basement… but, who can blame them. Other things worth mentioning: The elongated toilet downstairs has a bowl shaped seat (the seat is too small for the toilet). Also, the dishwasher looks like it was cleaned with coffee. I can’t possibly understand how a dishwasher got so dirty. It literally looks like they used coffee grounds in place of dishwashing detergent. IF you want to stay here, I would suggest getting a confirmation that these issues have been resolved before paying. For the money we paid, we shouldn’t have had to deal with these issues. This rental should be taken off the market until these issued are resolved, because there could be potential health and safety concerns if left uncorrected. I did call the owner on the last day to explain some of the problems. He apologized and said that the issues would be corrected immediately. However, I am skeptical based on other recent negative reviews that seem to lack any sort of corrective action. Actions speak louder than words. I did not ask nor was I offered any discount, refund, or partial refund for our inconveniences. I totally understand that it is not realistic to expect any home to be 100% insect free and there is always a chance
