About this property

Cozy cottage on a spring fed lake in the picturesque Ottawa Valley.

  • Our cottage is located on beautiful Otty Lake, 10 minutes from historic Perth, Ontario. Built on the Canadian shield we christened this 1940s bungalow Chraig a Dwr (Welsh for rock and water). The cottage is perched on a small outcropping of rock giving the sensation of being nestled in the trees. Those who stay here remark on the peace and tranquility they feel looking out the bank of windows to the lake or enjoying the stars around the campfire. We have lots of wildlife around and several Provincial Parks within an easy drive. We have kayaks and a canoes to enjoy the lake and if you bring your boat there is a public launch you can use. Or you might want to curl up with those books you have been meaning to read and enjoy a glass of wine on the deck. Head into town and enjoy the wonderful cafes and restaurants, galleries and shops catering to all tastes. Ottawa Valley is known for unique little towns throughout the area - Westboro, Almonte, Carleton Place, Merrickville - to explore. Relax, rest and enjoy!
