Lovely farm stay
We spent 2 nights in this amazing farm house. We really enjoyed staying here despite of the gloomy weather. The view is just spectacular- you have both worlds, 1 with the ocean and the other side with the mountain. Our dog Yumi loves the big space playing with her friend dog Max and with the horses, cow and chicken. The house is very clean and spacious and has a warm character to it. It is a walking distance to the beach. I really like it even if it's a 20 minute drive from New Plymouth coz its kind of in between other attractions and near the national park. Mike is a great host and very friendly. We simply love staying at the Saltwater stables and will definitely come back and refer this to family and friends.

Totally lovely stay
A gorgeous place tastefully decorated in a beautiful location with friendly and helpful hosts. A real joy to stay and made so welcome and lovely horses and Max (their dog) was really good with our dogs. Really recommend Saltwater Stables and look forward to a return visit one day. Thank you Mike and Ingrid.

A pleasure to host friendly, happy guests with extremely cute and well behaved wee dogs. It's possible the accommodation was even cleaner than on arrival and I was so surprised that even the rubbish left! Welcome back any time - 5* guests.

Great weekend holiday!
Nice and clean private bnb. The owners are very welcoming. The house was exceptionally clean. The view is such a bonus. Not far from the beach. We enjoyed the walk and a little bit of fishing on the side. Thanks Mike and Ingride for letting us take Max out for a walk. Our tokēna enjoyed his company. Will definitely come back.

Fantastic place to relax, amazing views, great location.
Really enjoyed our stay, wished we could have stayed longer. First holiday we had taken our dogs on. We wore them out at the beach each day. We use to live in Taranaki and this was close enough for friends to come out and visit, close enough to get anything we needed. Thanks Mike and Ingrid.

Fantastic stay, perfect for dogs. The road to the beach was a perfect walk for our dog. The owner’s dogs are also super cute and very friendly.

Amazing accommodation. Beautiful outlook in a wonderful part of the country. Friendly owners. Good phone and 3G reception but no wifi which is a great thing for a holiday. Very relaxing and beautifully set up and decorated. I will definitely be back

Peace and quiet with lovely view
We loved our stay, Friendly, very prompt reply to emails prior, lovely setting and cool layout with open plan living with views out to sea, problems with WiFi (not that we cared on holiday) soon to be rectified I'm sure, BTW check before you go,,,also one of the beds in lounge was badly repaired and broke, bed in master was fabulous,,, we really appreciated being able to bring our dogs along, the kids loved mucking around checking on the horses and with the beach nearby it was perfect for our needs! Peace and quiet was just the ticket!

OK so the WiFi has been removed as it was too hard and expensive at this stage to provide satellite internet connection for short stays. And the bed has been properly repaired. Just a heads up our septic and water services are stretched with five so the posting is now maximum of two couples as only two queen beds.

A great place to stay near Oakura and wider Taranaki!
A warm and friendly place to stay, really comfortable and relaxing and everything you need for a home away from home stay. Mike & Ingrid are very welcoming and the building is so cool, converted from a former farm building. The setting is beautiful, views from the front deck across farm land to the sea, and the bedroom has views to the mountains and Taranaki beyond.

Wonderful retreat with great views
Very welcoming host, beautiful accommodation cleverly designed for privacy and views. No traffic noise at all, but plenty of birds (including ruru at night)! Freshly ground coffee was waiting for us on arrival, and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for our brief stay. We'd love to come back and stay longer, and explore more.

Rural relaxation
The property is spacious and comfortable with views of Mt Taranaki to one side and the sea on the other side. Comfortable, clean and quiet. Great hosts. Only a short drive to cafe, and 15 minutes to New Plymouth. Very much reccommended.

Beautiful location, gorgeously quirky accomodation
We booked in to stay for a weekend atTataraimaka so we could attend a family wedding at a nearby winery. We loved every moment we spent there. Spacious accommodation, beautiful surroundings and our hosts Mike and Ingrid were lovely. We specially enjoyed the freshly dug veges Mike provided for us to have with our bbq in the lovely little courtyard under the fairy lights. Highly recommend you book in for a delightful stay at this hidden gem
