"The Birch is an old cottage with some poky rooms. The beds were very hard. The shower was strange. It was disconcerting to find a newer cabin in the grounds with a view from my kitchen straight into the bedrooms. The area was quiet and dark at night. It was a 5-10 minute walk to the main shopping area. This is not the worst place that I have stayed. It’s just average."

"We only had one night at Lake Tekapo (breaking up a long journey) but could easily have spent longer.The place was quiet and just a short walk to town. The sky was incredible - even our 12 year old became fascinated with looking up and using an app to identify the planets and constellations.We were there in summer and the lake was refreshing.The hot tub was wonderful and bigger than average.Having a manager on-site was a bonus if we had questions."

"The house is in a great location. My main issue were the beds were quite uncomfortable (particularly the bed in the front room near the door and the main bedroom). There are random items around the house (like in the walk in robe) that makes the house feel disorganised. Overall, it wad fine but could have been better. "

"Two nights for my daughter and I to take in Tekapo and Mount Cook, The little bach was perfect with two rooms each with their own on suite. We mainly ate out but full cooking facilities were there. The place was clean and tidy and really was a credit."
