  • Your romantic waterfront getaway awaits you in this gorgeous private guest home on one of the most impressive waterfront properties in Washington. Wake up in your king-sized memory foam bed to golden sunrises over the Puget Sound. This guesthouse is detached from the main home and tucked away behind a gated French Chateau style estate in a quiet picturesque neighborhood. One mile from the Harbor and downtown shops, restaurants and breweries.

    Guest home has a full-sized kitchen complete with everything you need to make a great cup of coffee or romantic dinner. Comfy living room area perfect for unwinding and snuggling in with a good book or movie. Stunning Italian marble bathroom with double vanity, walk-in-shower and full-sized washer and dryer. Home has 2 electric based wall heating units located in the living room and bedroom and a fireplace in the living room.

    Meander around the meticulously kept gardens of the main home and don't forget to catch some "Morning Therapy" by watching the stunning sunrises, complete with Mount Rainier, Vashon Island and Point Defiance Views. Orca whales, harbor seals, porpoises, and bald eagles are all common visitors in this beautiful high bank waterfront backyard along Colvos Passage in the quiet community of Gig Harbor, Washington!

For us this was a near perfect place to stay in the Seattle area. Whilst the chateau or guesthouse has no water views from inside it does offer several patio areas to sit and one does give you truly a million dollar view. The interior is comfortable, clean and well supplied. The hosts were very friendly and extremely communicative. Gig Harbor proper is literally just around the corner and hosts shopping and eateries abound. Do not miss an early visit to Sussane’s bakery. Being outdoor enthusiasts we were able to spot eagles every day were we there as well one viewing of a pod of orcas (we were notified by our host they might show that morning).

Chateau on the Sea is truly one of the best places we've ever stayed. It's stunningly beautiful. Private, yet close to restaurants and shops. The hosts were warm, friendly, and excellent communicators, ensuring that every need was met. The experience was absolutely magical, and we can't wait to go back.

Absolutely fabulous place to stay in Gig Harbor! Views are spectacular, the guest house was beautiful and the host was lovely. I definitely recommend this for an individual or a couple who want to enjoy Gig Harbor at its best!

Everything was perfect. We were visiting to explore the Gig Harbor area and Shannon provided a bunch of great recommendations (food, attractions, even a realtor). The guest home is excellent and we enjoyed several afternoons down by the waterfront with some wine. The weather was beautiful and Shannon and Lorne were terrific!

Beautiful location - European ambience

We just completed a 3 day stay and were delighted about every aspect of the place. The warm message and bottle of wine to greet us, the charming decor, the beautifully appointed rooms and the exquisite gardens made it a perfect 10 VRBO experience. The property has magnificent flower gardens and views. Access to the gardens, lawn, and waterside sitting area were a plus. I had the best time!

The Chateau by the Sea is highly recommended. perfect location. Your hosts will be the added bonus; such fine people. This venue is so wonderful, we chose carry-out each evening to enjoy the private peaceful retreat. The 1-5 rating scale on the app should go to 10!

Wonderful stay!

The Chateau by the Sea was the perfect place to explore around beautiful Gig Harbor - tucked behind a gate in the guesthouse of an exclusive, waterfront property (with exquisite landscaping!), the rental was comfortable, clean, and lovely. It reminded us of Italy. Shannon was a thoughtful and friendly host with an eye for detail and extra little touches that made our stay warm and welcoming. Highly recommend!

The most amazing stay

From the minute we entered the palatial gate, we felt like we were in a storybook. The French provincial accommodation surrounded by beautiful gardens is just the beginning. Our host Shannon and Lorne welcomed us with a tour of the gorgeous view of the Puget sound. The interior was just as amazing. We will definitely be back!!

Perfect getaway

I have stayed in many VRBO's over the years, this was by far the best. Home is exactly as described by host. Absolutely beautiful setting, many amenities in the kitchen, comfy bed and views, views, views! I was looking for a rejuvenation weekend, could have stayed another week it was so sublime. Perfect & Relaxing!

I couldn’t have had a more relaxing, calming and beautiful place to enjoy celebrating my 60th birthday. Our hosts were fabulous, thoughtful and were wonderful to share their fabulous view. They also provided us with suggestions for things to check out in Gig Harbor and surrounding area, which was helpful as this was our first (but certainly not our last) trip here.

Our stay at this incredible home was perfect. The location is close enough to town, but no traffic noise. The views across the sound were so beautiful. The owners were very attentive and the house was well stocked and it was so comfortable. This is a gem. Put this home on your must visit list!
