The best area to stay in Svatava is the central part of the village, particularly around the main square and along the Ohře River.

This area provides easy access to the village's limited amenities and offers a pleasant, relaxed setting. You'll find the local shops, a few eateries, and the church within a short walk. The general layout is quite open, with residential streets branching off the main thoroughfares.

For travellers looking for a tranquil base with good access to the surrounding natural beauty, staying close to the Ohře River is ideal. The riverside paths are great for leisurely strolls or cycling, and the area is particularly appealing to those who appreciate a quiet rural setting.

The best time to visit Svatava is during the late spring (May-June) or early autumn (September-October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the Karlovy Vary region is at its peak.

During these months, you'll find comfortable temperatures superb for exploring the surrounding countryside and taking part in outdoor activities without the intense heat of summer or the chill of winter. The spring brings blooming flowers and lush greenery, while autumn offers a stunning display of colourful foliage, particularly in the forests and along the Ohře River.

Couples often find these periods ideal for a romantic getaway, as the tranquil scenery provides a beautiful backdrop for walks, cycling, or simply relaxing. You'll also find fewer crowds than during the peak summer season, allowing for a more intimate experience at local attractions and dining spots.

For those interested in hiking or cycling, the mild weather makes exploring the numerous trails around Svatava and through the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area particularly enjoyable.
