Great hotel in Surin. Tony the bellman is the key to this place. He will greet you upon arrival, speaks perfect English & even call you by your name throughout your stay. I was very impressed by his service. Pool was fabulous, haven't eaten breakfast yet, but I'm sure it's good. Walkable to best spots in Surin including all the hot bars & clubs...very cool beer spots. The room itself is amazing. I got upgraded to a junior suite which was fabulous. All amenities in room are great including robes. Tony Tony Tony!!!

The Staff is on par, great very kind, on it, polite always helpful. The breakfast was great good food. As far as the room way to many mosquitoes. It's clean and affordable highly recommend it

The rooms look like they were once very nice for Surin, now they are a bit tired, windows have never been properly cleaned on the outside as there are still many drips from when building was originally first painted. Beds are to hard, furniture needs an update, housekeeping is fantastic

Claims to be a 4-star hotel but I couldn't get a hot shower or hot water shave. And the breakfast is poor. Other than no hot water, the room was comfortable.

WiFi was a little slow and internet connectivity lacked stability. The facility recently re-opened after COVID Lockdown and is not yet operating at full capacity. There are very good dining options within walking distance.

Didn't like the older style rooms and hotel. You can put paint on it but its still outdated. Don't know how they classify this as a 4 star hotel. Many other hotels are cheaper and just a good

A very grand hotel, everything reasonably priced. Good food and drink. Service was excellent. Room was dated in electrics and was very short on sockets but everything was functional 100% so no real complaints. I must say at night it is very noisy with a show just down the road ( excellent show again ) but for those who want a quiet night maybe check with the hotel first. Good cheap bars just down the road to the right, Big bar with good food and music right outside the front of the hotel

It was a little expensive for Thailand but room was very clean, pool was nice for cooling off, staff was helpful and kind, good complimentary breakfast. Right in the city near lots of things.

"Never again"
This hotel seemed much better three years ago,room seemed much better then than now, the breakfast was terrible and the corridors are dark and dingy, the reception area is quite bright totally different from upstairs, outside the front is quite drab, down the stairs is filthy and what garden there is has never been maintained for ages, I booked this hotel last time because the price was good (half as much as now) and it had a good sized pool, but to my suprise the pool was EMPTY - no water!, the management said it was down to the dry weather, down the road was a health club with a 25mtr pool costs 100b five times larger the hotel pool - go there for a swim, as for the hotel find another one.

Good location, satisfactory stay
This hotel is within walking distance of the train and bus stations. There are many shops and small restaurants in the area. The entrance to the hotel is steep, so if walking, it is challenging for anyone with mobility or health issues. The bed in the room was very hard, so sleep was not comfortable. However, the room was spacious and clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was adequate, but there were no western options except for eggs, as most guests are Thai (not a problem for me, but others may wish to know). There were very few vegetarian and non-pork dishes.

Nice hotel, friendly staff, but it's a bit dated. I don't think anything in the rooms has been updated in more than 25 years. Old furniture, old bathroom appliances, but everything was in working order.

I always stay at the Thong Tarin. It’s super convenient and the staff are all fantastic. Yes, the hotel is old & tired and desperately needs updating but it’s priced accordingly.

Very friendly and helpful staff
A comfortable stay in a good location. Thong Tarin Hotel is a pleasant hotel, off the main streets a short distance, but which offers many services, including an excellent beer garden and restaurant. The staff were very helpful, including the cleaning person who found an amulet I left in the room and turned it in to the front desk. The hotel is a short walk to the main bus terminal and a short ride by tuk tuk or pedicab (love these!) to the train station. The toilet/shower room was a bit small, but for us not a problem. The free breakfast buffet was not extravagant, but satisfying. The price was very reasonable, about US$29. I recommend this hotel and will stay here again whenever in Surin.
