Wow. Just wow

Great beach stay
This home is located at a great spot on Holden Beach. The boardwalk to a great outlet for surf fishing . The pool and hot tub provided extended fun for the kids. The house is spacious and accommodated all guests. We have a few concerns that we’re quickly addressed by the home owners.

Beautiful views, great location!
This was our second time staying in this house over a 4 yr period. The house is beautiful and the layout is perfect for a large family gathering. The rooms from the many balconies all around the house are beautiful from the ocean to the sound. The beach is very private and the tide pools make for exceptional photos at sunset. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well supplied and perfect for large gatherings. The only negatives we had were the cleanliness of the place. Like everywhere you go these days it is hard to find workers and the place was pretty dirty upon arrival. Even the beds weren't changed in some of the rooms and sand and hair were in beds. Luckily we had extra sheets to remedy this. The house did have some wear and tear over the years but nothing to distract from the fabulous time we all had. Management was also very responsive to any issues we had. Would highly recommend this house just be aware you may have some cleaning to do upon arrival.

It was a great property for families! The pool and hot tub were a hit along with the ping pong and pool tables! Great family dining space and well stocked kitchen! Beautiful beach and family areas!

Wonderful house and location!
This was our 2nd stay at this home. It is perfect for our family group of 19+ (ages 5-73). Love this section of the island where there are no crowds. Family rotated time btwn the beach, pool and hot tub every day. Love the reverse floor plan with living area on the top floor. Kitchen well stocked. Great living areas. Plenty of room for everyone to be together and/or to find a quiet spot and enjoy the surroundings.

Extended family at the beach!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 72 Palms. It was an extended family vacation. All of our children, their spouses and our grandchildren joined us there. The property is spacious and very well equipped. The elevator was truly amazing both upon arrival and departure. It was also much easier for my husband and I to join the activities with our children rather than using the stairs. The pool, the hot tub, and the beach were enjoyed by all! The property is beautiful inside and out. The porches gave us a wonderful view of the ocean from sunrise to sunset. Our grandchildren enjoyed the ping ping table and the pool table on the ground level, as well as cornhole. It was a wonderful place to gather for a family vacation!

Relaxing and Fun
We had approx 17 adults and 1 toddler. There was more than enough room that we didn’t feel like we were on top of each other. We cooked in all week and enjoyed all the space with two tables. The younger group went downstairs where the pool table and ping pong table were and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Having a bathroom and shower by the pool made it very convenient. Would definitely go back.

Wonderful beach house
The house was everything we expected and more. It's tucked away on the south end of the island abutting beautiful dunes and a long, wide beach. The house was beautiful and had more than enough space for my party (about 14 people). The amenities were great, the host was very responsive whenever I needed him. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a vacation down on the NC shore.

What Vacations Were Meant For
The oceanfront home provided our group with spectacular views. The ICW can be seen and enjoyed from street-side (front of home ) balconies. Similar homes of equal size and quality fill the landscape without impeding upon your view or enjoyment. The beaches were not crowded at all. Lots of beach! Many seashells were available for the avid hunter / collector. For those not familiar with the area, the water is normally much calmer than that of the OBX. Great if you have kids. A couple of young men in our group caught a few sizable flounder which were enjoyed by all. We saw Drum, and other small fish / shark. A fifteen minute beach walk will have you fishing in the ICW. We had several contacts with the owner / manager regarding anything important prior to arrival. If there were any issues which they knew of, they attempted to and did fix the minor things prior to our arrival. We were not hindered or put out in any way. The living, dining and bedrooms were great; plenty of space if you need to get alone. The two dining areas were large enough for our group of fifteen. We ate all of our meals in house, and no one seemed to complain of needing additional utensils, etc. Available laundry rooms were convenient for all parties and worked well. We used the grill twice, and that worked well. *If you want a prep table you might bring a small one. The pool and decking were enjoyed much of each day. If it were a really hot week, one might want to bring an additional umbrella or your own canopy for enough shade for all: 12:00-3:00pm. We had great weather so it was seldom an issue. The hot tub worked well and was enjoyable to many in our group. Great place for long conversations with the family. * we would definitely consider this home again if we need an 8 bed / 8 bath home. The 5,000 sq ft. size of this home means you are not crammed into small rooms or living space. If you have seniors whom are worried about steps, the reverse floor plan allows for two suites to be on the upper / living and dining room level. That was a plus. Our check in featured

Super awesome fun time!
This property exceeded mine and my family’s expectations! It was beautiful, clean and the location was amazing! I love that the beach was never busy, and it was great for the little ones to run around, while the grown ups looked for shells. The pool was perfect, all of us were able to relax and play at the same time, and the pool house was an added bonus. Every room had an amazing view of either the beach or the marsh which was beautiful. The owner was very quick to respond if I had any questions, which was great! Can’t wait to bring our family back for years to come. Everyone has a great time from my 18 month old all the way up to my 74 year old mom. Would recommend this property to everyone.

We enjoyed our stay
Beautiful property with amazing view. Main dining room window sadly has broken seal/fogged up obscuring view. FYI: The two queen bedroom, nearest the beach, on second floor window had a major leak during a hard rain storm. Needed towels to soak it up. Counters, floors and tables had crumbs and sticky spots when we arrived that we had to clean be fore hitting the beach.

The dining room window has been on order for 3 months and continues to be delayed for supply chain issues. Another Perfect Stay at 72 Palms
We had an amazing week at 72 Palms! This was our second stay at the house (7 families: 12 adults, 8 kids ages 5-9) and we would recommend it for any large groups. The beach is wide and very private. We enjoyed playing on the beach and in the waves, fishing, playing in the pool, relaxing in the hot tub, and playing games at the spacious dining tables. The kitchen is well stocked and the floor plan is spacious so you don’t feel on top of each other. Communication with the owners was always quick, clear, and easy.

Family Reunion
This property was perfect for a large gathering of people. The house has magnificent views from every room. It has spacious gathering places and is furnished beautifully. It has an open concept but so many porches and areas if you want your own space. The eating area has two large tables so everyone can gather to eat or play games. The pool is a wonderful area when not at the beach. This property felt like a high end resort. It is a wonderful place to stay. Very private also. Would definitely book this again.

Best beach ever!
We feel extremely lucky to have found such an amazing private beach house. The house is very spacious and each family could have their own space if needed. The entertainment is perfect, you could relax At the beach, enjoy the pool or the hot tub. The beach is so isolated we could even have a soccer game with all the teenagers and still not see any neighbors on the beach. Absolutely in love! Almost don’t want anyone to know about this beach 😏so it stays so beautiful !!

Family week @ the beach
We do a family beach trip every 2 years. 3 generations. 19 family members this year. 4th trip to Holden Beach. Love the location of this house on the far west end of the island, in the private section. Very few folks on this section of beach. Like the a fact that it is close to the inlet and intercostal. 2nd time we stayed on this part of the island. House was perfect for our needs. 8 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom! Loved the outside bathroom as well. Kids went from beach to pool to hot tub. Kitchen very well stocked. The 2nd refrig/freezer in the garage was used for drinks. Having a 2nd washer & dryer in the garage was great for drying wet towels. Would stay here again.

Great location and space for all!
72 Palms was spacious and well designed for our 14 member family! Older members were thankful for the elevator, walk-in showers, covered porches, and fully equipped kitchen. Younger ones loved the pool and hot tub! We brought our own Roku and were able to easily access any movies or shoes we wanted to watch on any of the numerous tvs. The beach was expansive and private, perfect during Covid-19 or anytime! The kids especially loved the waves during high tide. We hope to return! We gave the 'cleanliness' a 4 due to a few minor issues which we will be happy to share privately. Overall, a great week, and your property did not disappoint!

A Gem in Paradise

Great place for a large group
Overall, this was a great place to stay for our family reunion of 22 people. The rooms more than accommodated all of us, and it was nice that each bedroom had its own bathroom. There was a problem with the dishwasher, but the owner sent paper products to help out with the dishes. Communication with the owner was very thorough. The walk to the beach was quite long for the kids and older adults, but some of us didn't mind it as much. The kitchen was well-equipped; our only "complaint" about the kitchen was that it had 1 oven instead 2 in relation to the size of the house. I definitely recommend this house for a larger group.

Oceanfront Family Fun
Our first time at Holden with our family of 16. House is comfortable and spacious and one never feels crowded. Owners have done an excellent job decorating and making the house a "home" for your stay. Everyone in our family loved the house, outside area, etc. A big shout out to the owner, Jason, who goes the extra mile to help when needed. As a former beach house owner, I appreciate that effort. Happy memories.

The home is beautiful, spacious, tastefully furnished.
The property manager was responsive and helpful each time we contacted him. The house was perfect for our large group, with plenty of space, a well-stocked kitchen, large patio/ pool/ hot tub area. The beach is a expansive and very private, great for shell-finding. The walk to the beach is long, especially for an oceanfront property, but we expected that based on the photos. Awesome accommodations for a fabulous week with family and friends!

Great family beach week at 72 Palms
Family of 26 on our 8th year of beach trips but first year at Holden Beach and this house. Location, quiet beach, views from the porches are all wonderful. Kitchen is spacious and well stocked, bedrooms very comfortable, top floor living area was big enough for us as that's where everyone gathered to eat and play games. Salt water pool, hot tub and downstairs game area provided extra space for our young people. Owner very responsive when needed. Hope to return again next year to 72 Palms.

Sunny week at the beach
The views from the house were amazing, both marsh and beach. Our family of 14 had plenty of room to spread out. The beach was very private which enabled us to play games and enjoy the water. We made generous use of the well maintained pool. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped. Would not hesitate to recommend this house.

Good rental for our large group.
Great house for a large group. Be prepared for a long walk to the beach from the house. Home is ocean front but due to wet dunes the walk is lengthy. Great pergola and walk way to the beach. Owners responded very quickly to any needs we had.

Luxury at Holden Beach
Fourteen family members had a fun filled week at Holden Beach, housed in a deluxe, comfortable house with a pool, hot tub, gazebo and gorgeous view of the beach. The beach was uncrowned. When it rained we had pool table and ping pong matches. The large dining table was able to accommodate the entire group for festive Anniversary and Birthday dinners. An added bonus was the elevator, making it easy for our 94 year old matriarch to enjoy herself as well.

Holden Beach 2019 Family Vacation
Our family of 14 had a great time at this VRBO. The kitchen was very well supplied to make cooking and eating in a real treat. My phone call was quickly returned. The view was absolutely heavenly!!! The walk to the beach carrying all the ‘stuff’ was a challenge, but well worth it once we were under the tent watching the waves. Great memories were made by our crew which ranged from 4 yrs old to 73 yrs old❤️

Awesome house.
We had a group of 26. Plenty of room. Beautifully decorated. Kitchen well equipped. New extension decking to the beach was a nice surprise bc when we booked it was not in pictures. Pool and hot tub were awesome. Would highly recommend this house.

Best Week
Excellent choice for a large adult family (no children). Accommodations were perfect for our group of (18) and the home was immaculate when we arrived Saturday (6/16/2018). We are planning to book the home again next year for the same group. That should tell you how much we enjoyed the home, beach, pool, play room, and the view from the table at the window overlooking the ocean. The only small downside - involved the steps required to access the pool area for one adult member who is disabled and must use a walker. We managed with everyone lending a hand when she needed to move between floors or use the lower level bath. At first I thought the walk to the beach was long but this proved to be a minor inconvenience and provided some meaningful exercise after eating all the great meals prepared by a nearby catering gal and the willing folks in our group. Looking forward to next year at 72 Palms.

72 Palms was an oasis of calm!
We have been coming to Holden Beach as a family for over 20 years, since our children where small. Now we are able to come with our children and grandchildren to continue our Holden Beach tradition! Our stay at 72 Palms was relaxing but active. The house had plenty of room for all and the beach was perfect for our grandchildren with the tide pools and sandbar, not to mention all the sand castle building! The pool was always the perfect ending to our days. We enjoyed board games, coloring, rocking and relaxing on the deck with beautiful views, and meals together as a family. Since we stayed in for all meals, having a well stocked kitchen with all the necessities was wonderful and made our meal prep easy; after all, who wants to really work at the beach! It was our first time staying at the private west end of the beach. Private and comfortable! It was another year of making memories and 72 Palms could not have been more perfect. The owners were quick to respond to any questions or concerns and we have already booked again for next year. See you next year 72 Palms. Thank you for another year of memories!
