Honeymoon: Trout Stream & Petting Zoo (2/1)

Take a moment to read our amenity checklist below!

Little River's Honeymoon Cabin is exactly that, a perfect little romantic spot to bring your better half or even your small, growing family. Nestled on an 15 acre gated property with hiking and walking trails, plenty of outdoor furniture to sit, lounge and take in nature, two ponds and 1000+ feet of creek frontage, Little River will take you back to those simpler days we all long for! Mountain charm at its best! And only 20 minutes to downtown Boone and within 35 minutes of all the major ski resorts (App Ski, Sugar, Beech and Hawksnest), the location is perfect - away from it all (the mountain experience you expect), but easy access to your family activities!

Is our tiny too small, try the below: Vrbo #’s: 3614022 (2 bedroom luxury barn), 1491834 (1-bedroom upstairs barn), 1372411 (2-bedroom downstairs barn), 3611237 (airstream rv) & 1373553 (3-bedroom estate home). Lastly, 2 miles up the road is 3-bedroom Gingerbread with farm access #2466792. And no mountain experience isn't perfect without your own petting zoo next door! The goats are a riot & more animals to come, ducklings are hatching, maybe some giant rabbits - who knows what Connie has up her sleeve with this farm!

This little guest cottage is mountain style dressed up with modern day decor and features a convenient little kitchenette, complete with dishes, cooking utensils and a small fridge. The cozy living area is complete with a king bed, a wardrobe housing a flat screen TV, a rocking chair and lamps on end tables. The bath area has a unique yesteryear claw foot tub, just like the good old days (not to worry, it has a long shower handle for those longing for a shower not from yesteryear!). The loft area has a sitting area over looking the creek, a double bed and a chest of drawers. This cabin is comfy and cozy for two, but welcomes up to 2 adults and 2 small kids (this is a small cabin and anything more than 2 adults and 2 small children, let's chat before booking).

And the kids will truly be one with nature (as will you) with acres to explore, frogs to find, birds to watch, stones to skip ... the list goes on and on.

The front porch is covered so you can sit and listen to the birds singing and expect a lot of flying wildlife on property! The deck is complete with a newly installed hot tub for you to take in the stars while relaxing alongside your 1000 feet of Little River frontage access! There is also an outdoor table and chairs to dine out.

The property has so much to offer. You can take a walk around the property (now 20 fully accessible acres) or hike through the surrounding woods and beautiful seasonal flowers can be found all over the property for your enjoyment. Picnic spots are also available throughout the property to rest your legs or simply sit to enjoy your own slice of mountain life. You might see some wildlife, as there is an abundance and the area land is not as developed as other towns. There are also two ponds on your property! Tube down the lazy creek or stroll through the vegetable garden, relax, sit back, take a load off, you have earned it. You deserve it!

You are sure to find something that will be a memory to take home. "Calming, stress relieving, and peaceful." These are the words we hear time and time again to describe this beautiful well-maintained, gated and secluded property.

PET POLICY: You are invited to visit our little piece of heaven, and feel free to bring the family dog, HOWEVER, pre-approval is required, $50 fee, crate policy if you need to leave her unattended and we really try to keep the pet under 40 pounds, its a small cabin.

Special Note: This is a guest house as detailed above. The land is shared between your family, the main home and our barns next door to enjoy the land because it is too well kept and too fun not to share!

Good stay. Read full description
Place was nice, bed was extremely comfortable. The goats and chickens were fun and we never heard them once in the cabin. I’d recommend reading all reviews plus the full description so you know what to expect of this specific cabin vs the grounds you share with other guests. The public areas of the property are really great for children and we look forward to bringing our own family to one of the larger properties. The only reason I couldn’t give full stars is because we pulled out multiple dirty dishes when trying to cook. This is probably because you are required to wash dishes at the end of the stay so quality of previous guest’s cleaning is questionable.

Great Little Getaway
Our family had a wonderful weekend stay at the Little River Cabin. There is so much to do and a lot of land to explore! I would definitely recommend it to anyone with kids as there is a slide, ziplines, trampoline, swings, and much more. We will definitely be coming back but will probably stay in one of the larger cabins next time! The property is just gorgeous and you can tell a lot of love and care go into maintaining everything!

Amazing getaway!
This is our second time staying here in 4 months! We couldn't wait to get back! The cabin is perfect for small families. There is so much to do on the property and in the surrounding area. It's really amazing and the owners are so great and accommodating! Can't wait to get back again soon!!

Memorable
This is an incredible property. So many things for kids and adults to do. Would suggest adding drive and pathway lighting. It’s a bit dark trying to navigate between cabins at night when family rents multiple cabins. Even Solar lights would have been helpful and path lighting would encourage evening strolls under the stars. Really a unique experience. We’ll be back for a longer time next time. Would love to know the history of this farm, might be a good addition to the info available to people visiting.

Great Location and Grounds
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this property and will 100% be back. The expansive grounds had something for everyone and can't be overstated how well they're maintained. Everyone we came across was very friendly and easy to interact with while respecting our privacy. Loved this house and area as a whole!

Best place ever!
This place was awesome and you can tell Connie put her heart into it all. The property is gorgeous and the amount of activities is amazing! Make sure to do the walking trail, zip lines, petting zoo, sandbox, swings, hill slide and all. We had the little cabin for just the 3 of us and it was perfect. It was super quiet being so close to the animals also. Make sure to bring s'more stuff and lighter fluid. Thanks Connie for an awesome time!

Had a great time. Home was clean and the grounds were beautiful. So many fun things to do on the property. Our son still talks about the trip several times a day a week later.

Perfect getaway!
Beautiful area with plenty to do. The kids (ages 10, 15) had a great time and loved the petting zoo area! The cabin was a little snug for us four, but we knew that when we rented. We didn't stay in the cabin, except to sleep, because the weather was perfect for outdoor activities. Farm fresh eggs are available to purchase, as well as, wood for any fire pits. Tubes were free and available to laze in the river, or tube down. A couple of zip lines, corn hole, swings, water slide, tubing, and sitting by the ponds & river are just some of the things we enjoyed while we stayed. Overall, a really great place to stay that's set up really well for relaxing and fun, whichever you choose.
