Artful Retreat: Artemisia Lodge with Vast Garden on 2000-acre Seaside Estate

Perfectly nestled among tall hedges and matured trees, featuring vast expanse of lawn and gazes into the woodland, Artemisia may inspire the greatest artistic pursuits. The stand-alone heritage lodge, built at the beginning of the 1900s, and now restored to modern splendor, contains two bedrooms, a cozy living room, and an open-space kitchen and dining area.

Artemisia is inspired by the fierce Renaissance female artist, Artemisia Gentileschi, who encouraged us to handcraft this lodge into a pocketful of whimsical luxury while jettisoning all conventionality out of its century-old windows.

Upon entrance, you'll be instantly wowed by the pale robin-egg blue surroundings, which were painstakingly matched to the Arcadian mural on the main wall. Equally, the art deco chrome-and-velvet sofa perfectly blends into the mural, with flashes of hot pink cushions. A selection of curated books are available for those lazy days of lounging in the sun.

In the well-equipped kitchen sits a beloved antique table from the 16th century, with Mad-Men style leather upholstered dining chairs. Our collection of artful collages will be sure to inspire many conversations.

Downstairs, the bedroom features two Georgian wicker and pine beds alongside a hand painted mural by Jen Robson. An en-suite bathroom here contains a rain shower.

Along the sunny stairwell, you'll find the entire top floor devoted to the main bedroom. A gorgeous mural of whimsical woodland hugs one wall where a dedicated workspace can be found. Turquoise beds and gold accents are found throughout here. Step across the hallway to find a truly spacious bathroom with a luxurious bathtub and view of the woods, alongside a rain shower.

FOR CANCELLATIONS:

Full refund for cancellations made within 48 hours of booking, if the check-in date is at least 14 days away.

25% refund for cancellations made at least 21 days before check-in.

No refunds for cancellations made within 21 days of check-in.

FOR BOOKING MODIFICATIONS:

A one-time complimentary change of date can be made if the check-in date is more than 90 days away. The cost of the nightly rate will remain the same as the original booking OR the cost of the nightly rate for the newly requested dates or newly requested property, whichever is higher.

If the check-in date is less than 90 days away, a 170gbp fee is applied to the modification request. The cost of the nightly rate will remain the same as the original booking OR the cost of the nightly rate for the newly requested dates or newly requested property, whichever is higher.

We are unable to accommodate any change of date or change of property if the check-in date is less than 21 days away.

We carry out a deep cleaning process for allergen removal for every booking with pets. The cost is 60gbp / stay for up to two pets. This is added to your guest bill that is sent to you upon departure.

Weekend break

Had a great weekend break at this absolutely beautiful place. This place place is amazing had a lovely walk around the Loch and the walled gardens. Would definitely go back.
