    Welcome to Spruce Nest, a charming vacation retreat remodeled in 2019. Designed for comfort and privacy, it’s perfect for couples, families, or friends traveling together.

    The home features:
    • Two king suites (one on each floor)
    • Queen sofa bed
    • 2½ bathrooms
    • Large entryway
    • Open living and dining areas

    Located on a quiet dead-end street, you’ll enjoy a peaceful setting while staying close to everything.

    A scenic trail near the end of the street follows Butcher Knife Creek and leads to a dog park about a block away.

    Downtown is about a 10-minute walk with local shops, restaurants, and access to the Yampa River’s paved walking and biking trail. Strawberry Park Hot Springs and Buffalo Pass are just a 15–20 minute drive.

If you're headed to Steamboat - this is THE PLACE to stay. This home is so much more than the description can describe. The location is amazing only to be outdone by the amazing hosts and well appointed home. You will have everything you need, access to any suggestions you could need in a well kept home in a precious neighborhood. The layout is perfect for a little bit of quiet and a lot of fun together. You are walk-ably close to all the great food and shopping and exploration you could want. We loved it, our adult daughter loved it, and our dog was so happy to be with the family on this trip. We would stay at Tom's place any time and can't wait to visit SB here again.

The Spruce Nest was wonderful and Tom is a wonderful host! He thought of every little detail and made our stay so easy - especially with 3 dogs! Location is great, close to town and to trails/off leash dog park. Can’t wait to stay here again!

Fabulous in every way

We stayed in Steamboat for 2 weeks with family to celebrate our 50th anniversary. This location is perfect for downtown events, restaurants & shopping. The home itself is clean, comfortable, and Tom is a great host. Hope to come back!

Tom was one of the best hosts I have ever worked with. He has all the little touches and even 2 beers on tap! He has fans for the hot days and blankets for dogs. There is even a half bath and huge dining table. I just have to say WOW! We cannot wait to come back. We also walked to DT easily in 8 minutes!

Cozy and close to everything!

We came to Steamboat for family fun and relaxation and Tom’s property was a great home base for both. The home is on a quiet street, with a driveway that allows 2 SUV’s to park. One bedroom has an en-suite bath with shower and the upstairs bathroom is private with an adjacent full bathroom. The kitchen is well appointed and we enjoyed cooking in.Thanks Tom, we had a great stay!

Beautiful home, great location.

We loved our stay at the Spruce Nest! Honestly, there are a million places to stay in Steamboat, but I dont think any of them score 5's like this one. You can walk to the bus for skiing, walk to downtown for dinner, relax in a quiet neighborhood, and Tom, the property manager was super communicative. Small side note, the beds are the most comfortable you'll ever stay in. I am literally going to buy the same sheets for my room!

Excellent week stay @ Spruce Nest in downtown Steamboat

Lovely, well appointed house in ideal location! The home was super clean and very well stocked with cleaning supplies, kitchen spices and cooking items and everything rentals usually leave out, including Kombucha and beer on tap! Tom is a great host and very accommodating. We hope to return. We really enjoyed staying here. Spruce Nest deserves 6 stars.

Amazing time in a Steamboat

The host Tom was incredible! So informative 👍. The first lace was perfect , easy walk or bike ride to town. Clean and welcoming. We had a perfect stay. Planning to return next year.

Really cool neighborhood with an easy walk to downtown. Tom our host was engaged but not hovering. Kitchen well equipped for cooking in. Really good restaurants downtown.

Wonderful location and very clean

What a wonderful place to nest with the family!!! This home is nestled in a small quiet community within walking distance of shops, church, restaurants, art galleries, bars and Howelsen Hill. The home is extremely clean with comfortable beds/pillows, heated bathroom floors, large round dining table and cozy den. Our family of five was extremely comfortable as we were in town for a ski trip. The snowboarders in the family were thrilled to have boot warmers on sight…and not a bad drive to Steamboat. Many of our meals were cooked in-house with a well equipped kitchen and free flowing beer through the two in-house taps provided by our host Tom. If we had any issues or questions, Tom, the host, was quick to respond and help. This is a wonderful place to stay. I highly recommend if you are looking for a place to relax or call home base for a while.

Perfect first trip to Steamboat

The Spruce Nest was absolutely fantastic. The accommodations are so cozy and the place has literally everything you could need. I mean everything. My wife and I also own a VRBO in the mountains and we were taking notes of the little details so we can improve the stay for our guests. Tom Williams and his wife are great to property managers and every detail is thought of…we are coming back. Our stay was two full weeks and we plan to stay longer next trip hopefully. If you get the chance this place will make Steamboat a great trip. We walked to everything and even in the cold it was pleasant and never more than 10 mins or so to reach shops and restaurants. If we could give a sixth star we would.

Tom, the host, was exceptional. He greeted us with a keg and made sure we had everything we needed. He even helped my husband shovel and get the fire pit going. Tom truly went above and beyond. We’ve stayed in many places, and this is by far the best experience we've had.The kitchen was fully stocked with appliances and spices, which was a pleasant surprise. I also enjoyed being introduced to some local coffee, courtesy of Tom. My family, which includes my husband and two teenagers, had plenty of space. We appreciated having TVs in both bedrooms and the living room.The beds were extremely comfortable, and the heated floors in the master bathroom were a nice touch. The house was conveniently located near a park that we visited frequently with our Australian shepherd. Additionally, the town was within walking distance of many restaurants and shops. We could have taken the shuttle to the slopes, but we chose to drive directly to the mountain, which was not far from the house.We appreciated the binder filled with tips and suggestions for local activities and dining options. We plan to return and won’t hesitate to book with Tom again.
