"I paid a premium for a beach-view room but was assigned a pool-view one instead. When I raised the issue, staff dismissed it, noting only a partial beach glimpse was visible by leaning over—far short of expectations.Upon check-in, the air conditioning was non-functional. Curtains didn’t work, scale was non functional. Had to call numerous time to get one thing complete.Pool staff displayed consistent rudeness, appearing disengaged and jaded. Customer service overall was underwhelming, with restrictive policies on pool towels and buffet was below average. The complimentary shuttle operated without organization, resulting in chaotic conditions unsuitable for families with young children—we ceased using it immediately. Entertainment continued until 10 p.m. right front of pool, so couldn’t get the kids to bed early.These issues collectively undermined our stay and raise concerns about leadership and operational standards. Grandworld is a big fail with low quality foods and predatory price gouging. Pay for 5 star and get 2 star treatment. It’s one and done for us."

"The propperty is great with wonderful amenities and well maintained facilities. The biggest drawback is the attitude of the front desk staff. They were not helpful and bordering on rude. They were not very competent with English and did not seem interested in helping. This impacted the overall experience."

"This is an excellent world class resort except for one thing. I am surprised about the number of people who interact with guests are not very good at English. The quick version is one day my partner and I just wanted to go to a store that sold wine , spirits , mix and some snacks. A fellow on the registration desk had us take the V4-1 bus to the Grand terminal and then get on the 17 bus. We were heading to the airport. After almost 3 hours we got back to the resort. Shortly after , a resort shuttle took us just beyond the gate to a store on the Main Street. Waited for us and took us to our villa -#6509 on Wednesday March 11th. English is the world language and your resort accommodates people from all over the world. "

"I stayed in 5 different hotels during my trip to Vietnam, and this was the most disappointing. The front desk staff were not friendly nor accommodating/hospitable. The hotel is newer, but poorly built, as is the modern way, I guess. I could hear my neighbors, the cleaning staff in other rooms, and screaming kids from the pool. Everything (schedules, menus, room service) is online via a QR code, but half the time the internet didnt work. Lastly, this was the most expensive hotel I stayed at and the value/service for the money just wasn't there. I would not recommend staying here. "

"By the look of the exterior and lobby of the hotel, it is a five star worthy resort. The room itself is not as luxurious. The room furnitures show signs of wear & tear. The bed is one of hardest bed, and it hurts my back. The shower drain is also cloggng, and it drains slowly. There are no hair conditioner nor body lotion. The pool is nice, not too busy and not much chemicals in the water. We have free breakfast and bottle water. The only dinning room is huge, with two service buffet areas. The food is above average. Vinholiday provided us free unlimited Vinbus. Free shuttle from airport to hotel and back. Free bus to night market and shopping. We enjoyed the bus rides. We even used it to Sunset town (half way). We also enjoyed the discounted tickets to VinSafari and VinWonder. The free shuttle runs every half hour. We had to fight our way on the last bus after VinWonder water show. Human sardines on the last bus back to the hotel. We also like the beach and the Grand World area. We enjoyed the hotel and breakfast. "

"Nice, quiet resort on Phu Quoc with comfortable bungalows (the beachfront ones are best), a beautiful, uncrowded beach, and mostly very friendly staff. Breakfast was mediocre but included a small Western buffet and a few à la carte Vietnamese options. We stayed about 10 days and had to switch bungalows midway. Unfortunately, my husband became extremely ill the night before the move. In the morning, the front desk insisted we check out at 12pm unless we paid 500k VND for late checkout and said we couldn’t access the new room until 2pm, even after I explained we were current guests, and my husband was extremely sick and sleeping between bouts of violent vomiting. They suggested he wait on a beach chair for two hours, even though there was no way housekeeping can clean all rooms at once. Housekeeping, however, was absolutely wonderful. I went and spoke with them and explained our situation, they cleaned the new room as soon as the old guests checked out and let us move just before 1pm. As I was leaving the old bungalow, the front desk came over and complained that we had “gotten in the way” because “the new guests wanted to check in”. I politely reminded him that check-in was not until 2pm. Most staff were lovely, but this situation left a bad impression and would make me hesitant to stay again."
