The House in the Holla at the foot of Shenandoah National Park
Be in Shenandoah National Park in less then 15 minutes! Our home is special to us and we hope it will be to you as well. We are located on Swift Run, which is a stocked trout stream- you will need a Virginia fishing license and trout stamp, stocking is usually Oct-Feb. Outside we have a patio to enjoy sitting and relaxing listening to the river and grilling out along with 2 wood fire pits. Inside you can hear the river from both bedrooms. We have a fully stocked kitchen available for your use. One bedroom has a Queen sized bed, and the other has 2 twin beds. Although our home is small, it's very cozy and comfortable. Kitchen towels, dish washing detergent, trash bags, hand soap and a dishwasher are provided for your use. Bathroom towels and wash cloths are also provided with bedroom linens. We have 3 smart tvs and a DVD player along with high speed internet (100mbps) for your convenience. There are 2 outside fire pits, we try to keep wood there, but it's not always guaranteed. We have a pack and play (and sheet) and high chair in the closet of the big bedroom. Other items may be available upon request. We do welcome dogs for a $25 pet fee. No CATS. We are 12 miles from the entrance to skyline drive and with in 30 miles to UVA. Conveniently located!

The House in the Holla was perfect for our weekend getaway! Very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed sitting out by the creek and relaxing. Great location for trips into Shenandoah National Park. The host has brochures and books for activities in the area.
Yes, the kitchen was well equipped. The place was very near the Shenandoah national forest which we enjoyed. Only issue was the mattress in the one bedroom was not comfortable.
Very clean, comfortable, and so peaceful. We spent a lot of time sitting by the creek. It was absolutely perfect! In a wonderful location with the national park entrance very close by. We absolutely loved it and would highly recommend, especially to small families. There’s also a nearby restaurant with fabulous views and great food and service (Bearrr Appetit). It’s
Dana’s place was a perfect base camp for our trip to Shenandoah. Super easy access to go north or south in the park and a very peaceful environment during our downtime. We loved the outdoor fire pits and being able to listen to the stream at night made for such a lovely stay!
Beautiful little house! Very clean and perfect for relaxing after hiking and exploring all day! We had our dog with us and she was very comfortable and happy with the yard! The most was wonderful and has great communication! We would definitely stay again!
The property is very close to the Swift Run Gap entrance of Shenandoah National Park. It's very clean and secure with plenty of linens and towels. Also many little extras provided that made it comfortable.
We spent the day hiking on Skyline drive and retreated to this lovely bungalow next to a babbling stream. After cooking dinner in the grill we sat and talked around the fire pit. We appreciated the farm fresh eggs and all the other comforts of home. If you are planning a trip to the park, this is where you want to stay!
We had such a wonderful stay! This charming house was the perfect base for us as we explored Shenandoah NP and Monticello with our 2 dogs. The home itself is very comfortable and clean, and the property is lovely with the steam running alongside it. We even had the luck to watch a black bear cross through the backyard one morning! Would absolutely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay. Not sure how the creek runs all year but in the spring the sound is amazing. Everything is there you will need for a very comfortable stay. If we are ever back in that part of the world we will certainly see if there is any availability.
We spent 4 days photographing the spring wildflowers in Shenandoah National Park. The house was conveniently located for us to drive to the park. We hiked in the mornings and visited a few wineries in the afternoon. Early Mountain and Glass House wineries are very close. Would definitely stay here again.
We stayed at this property and it was great. Had all the things we needed for our stay. Thank you so much. Will definitely be back when we come from Florida again
My husband and I stayed here for one night for a weekend trip to the national park and wish we could’ve stayed a bit longer! It was a cute little home. We originally were going to bring our pup and know he would’ve loved it too. If we come back to visit the park we will definitely be coming here!
This house was perfect for our visit to Shenandoah NP. It was very close to the entrance and also close to a grocery store and restaurants. We loved the river nearby.
