Cabin #3 - Honey Pot | 3 Bed, 2 Bath

When we were building this cabin, we noticed that there were a few more bees visiting that year than usual. Although they were a little close for comfort, we decided to leave the honeybee hive alone and the bees to their creative process, as they weren’t there to impede ours. And those bees cover a LOT of ground! It's hard work filling their tiny honeybee tummies with the nectar of between 100-1500 flowers a day! And we figured, working as hard as we were, they needed a break. By the time the cabin was finished so were the worker bees. The honeybee hive exists no longer but the Honey Pot stands strong. And no need to worry… the bees are long gone, memories of them remain deliciously sweet in Cabin #3 which we call the HONEY POT.

Our cabin was in a perfect spot for enjoying the view. It was very clean. The hot tub was amazing. The cabin was also close enough to walk to the lodge for delicious meals at the restaurant. We loved our stay. We just wish we had stayed longer.

I booked this cabin for my boyfriends surprise birthday weekend! It was a lot of fun and great views. The only complaints we had was the hot tub didn’t get very hot and took hours to warm up, as well as no Ubers would drive on the mountain but that was not a fault on Lydia. We will be back!

Honey Pot was a great location for our Sisters and Nieces Reunion! We loved the cozy cabin and the decks/porches to see the autumn leaves fall. It was a great jumping off place for the hiking we did along Skyline Drive and beyond. It has a very open floor plan which was fine for us, but does not offer much privacy or sound dampening. Also, because of the cabin design, the lighting was dim after dark, and made it difficult to read. A couple floor lamps would help! Everyone we met at Lydia Lodge was sweet and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful visit!
