Dramatic family home directly on the Saugatuck River in Westport, CT
This sprawling family home is cantilevered over the Saugatuck River with dramatic water views from nearly every room. The property is very private and has a dock (with kayak for two included) that one can launch from to glide to numerous waterfront restaurants. One can also walk to the Town of Westport (20 mins) or to Saugatuck restaurants or the Metro North train (15 mins) or one can bike to either in no time; Westport also has two beautiful beaches on the Long Island Sound for swimming as well as permanent barbecues set up for sunset dining on the beach, the beautiful Levitt Pavilion is down the river with free concerts and the Westport Playhouse are all in close proximity.
Our home has 3 bedrooms (2 doubles and one queen) all on the second floor with water views (one has a private balcony with chaise lounges) and two bathrooms both with showers and tubs. The master bedroom (with king bed) is very privately situated on the first floor with large master bath (shower and bathtub) and has views of a large pond frequented by majestic egrets, swans and mallard ducks.
The large waterfront family room has a pool table and large screen TV. The kitchen is outfitted with top appliances and a comfortable banquette that can seat 8+ for casual dining with views of the water and a flat screen TV. A patio for al fresco dining conveniently located in the front of the house with a large wrought iron table that seats 8+ and water views. The backyard is landscaped with roses and hydrangeas and completely fenced in. There is also a waterfront cottage with an expanse of windows on the river and a half bath.
This home is available from Sept 15th to October 15th.
