10/10 Excellent
"We had a good stay here. The cottage is quite spacious inside and has a separate bedroom so it's not just a large studio. The cottage felt newer and was clean and it was nice that it is in a town, so you can go out and grab food if you want it. Check the settings on the heated floors though - they were on automatically even though we didn't need it (summertime) and it can get quite warm in the cottage and you can't open windows due to midges. This place did have the strongest sulfur smell of hot water of all the places we stayed. Nothing anyone can do about that - just know that it is a part of how things are in Iceland. The communication was great - we knew how to check in ahead of time and staff responded quickly when I had a question. I would recommend staying here."

"This hotel was well marked and the location near the water was great! We took a walk on the beach and rocks and enjoyed that very much. The rooms felt like a dorm more than a hotel and we had requested double beds but were given twin beds in all 3 rooms that we reserved. The instructions for check in were not clear and we had to get support on the line from Hotels.com to figure out check in as there was no staff at check in time and the phone number for the hotel wasn’t working. Breakfast was only offered for some guests and not included for all and it looked like mostly boxed cold food. Overall, it was clean and fine. It wasn’t memorable or impressive and the lack of staff for check in, for answering questions via email or phone, and the lack of warmth even with the breakfast made it a place we probably wouldn’t stay again. The best part about it was the location, and we did appreciate that the rooms were clean and there was free parking."

"We had a great stay here, mainly because we got in early and were able to make full use of the free washing machine and dryer (you have to bring your own detergent though), as well as the kitchen. There were not many pots/pans provided in the kitchen, so had there been more people, this could have been frustrating, but that was not our experience. We also note that they seem to have added more hot plates based on advice in the reviews. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a kettle, a microwave, and hot plates, as well as most necessary utensils to make a simple meal. There were plenty of bathrooms, though note that these are all on one side of the building. They also smell a bit weird, but we think that's just the Iceland water. There is one washing machine and one dryer, but we used both and had no issues. The soundproofing between the rooms and the main lounge was really good—we couldn't hear quite a large, loud group at night time and were shocked when we went there in the evening and noted that they were all chatting. The soundproofing to the hallway from the rooms wasn't as great though. The bedroom and common area were clean and in good condition. The bunkbed was a bit squeaky, but the beds were comfortable."

"Great property and nice and cozy. The sink was a bit small. The view is gorgeous! It is abit out of town, but i like it. There are 4 properties and 1 is occupied by the owner? He is a nice person who came out to greet us on arrive even though we arrived at 7PM. There is a kitchen area and sink with pots and pan if you like to cook your own food there. Just know there is nothing nearby for about 10 miles. Worth the cost and stay."

"We stayed at Kria, and the view was absolutely incredible\. It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by unspoiled nature. The place had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I only regret that I didn’t get the chance to enjoy the hot pot because of the strong wind and cold temperatures. It would be a perfect location for viewing the Northern Lights. I can only imagine how magical the experience must be on a clear night!! Thank you, Esther."
