The Artists Cabin - On the Bay of Fundy
The Artist's Cabin sits near the edge of the Bay of Fundy and is backed by a trail-lined sixty-acre farm that is home to horses, peacocks, geese, ducks, swans, deer, foxes, and more. Located about 8 minutes from St. Andrews and 20 minutes from St Stephen, we are in easy reach of extraordinary restaurants, shopping, grocery stores, a lively arts scene, great cafes, a world-class golf course, and amazing outdoor adventure opportunities ranging from sea kayaking and hiking to whale watching and scuba diving. The views will take your breath away and the local people will welcome you with open arms.
The cabin was named for the artists who have come here to write, photograph, paint, and rejuvenate. It is both very cosy and incredibly romantic and offers breathtaking views of the Bay of Fundy, Kilmarnock Head, and Ministers Island. It's a perfect location for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids)looking to spend a week or two at a slower pace.
Please note: The Artist's Cabin was moved in the winter of 2024 and now sits on a new foundation located a little over 100 ft. from the water. The cottage has received a range of updates and upgrades but appears almost identical to its previous iteration though has a larger deck and is set back from the ocean. The listing images include a photo of the cottage’s previous location that includes a pin noting its new home in the meadow about 200 ft away. We will be adding new photos as the work progresses.

Note: While we do not have kayaks on-site, Eastern Outdoors (based in St. Andrews) offers wonderful tours and rents both kayaks and wetsuits. They are sometimes able to deliver both on request.

This truly is a special place and we feel blessed to have found it. 2 days and we didn't see or even hear another person, very private and very close to the water. Being off the grid is a nice touch also.
This lovely little cottage is exactly as advertised. We didn't want to leave to spend our time sightseeing as we were so comfortable on the deck listening to the ocean and watching the fishing boats. When the weather turned cooler at night we were nice and warm with the wood burning fireplace. Interaction with the host was efficient and pleasant. We'd highly recommend this place.
This exquisite cottage is in an extraordinary location on the Bay of Fundy. At high tide, the water comes up to the house. At low tide, it’s as though you are looking at another world, which indeed you are, as the ocean floor expands in front of you. The house itself is a tiny gem, beautifully appointed, with romantic views of the tides from every room.
Watching the tides on the Bay of Fundy is a magical experience. Charming hosts, Kristi and Jordy, know how to share the magic.
We booked the Artist's cabin for our 40th anniversary
9 months in advance. We live in a very quiet and private location so finding a place to vacation can be extremely difficult. The cabin did not disappoint. If you like bustle and hustle around you this may not be the place for you. But if you like your privacy and peace and quiet it is. While our weather could have been better, the cabin, location and hosts could not have been. It was perfect. Krista & Jordy were there if we needed anything but otherwise left us alone to enjoy their little slice of heaven completely undisturbed. We hope to return some day and dearly hope it doesn't change. Just a heads up that foil, plastic wrap, etc and any spices beyond salt and pepper and olive oil are not in the cabin so best to plan ahead. Otherwise
Perfect isn't a perfect enough word to describe "Artist's Cabin".
PRIVATE, yet only 15mins to fine dining, casual dining & quaint shops. *We'll be back!
I don't want to say how wonderful this place is because I'm afraid it'll be booked when we can go again. The views are spectacular and even I got up in the middle of the night to look at the stars. Krista responded very quickly when I had a question. If you want contentment, peacefulness, and balm for the soul, this place is for you.
Far from the hustle and bustle, located on a peninsula at the far edge of a large oceanfront property, is a place of peace and tranquility. The Artist's Cabin is the place to be if you are looking to disconnect and enjoy the beauty which surrounds you.
A place to heal mind, body and spirit after 1 1/2 yrs of COVID restrictions
I really don't want to tell anyone how special this place is because it will just attract more people to stay here and its already difficult to get a reservation. Just let me say that if your mind, body and spirit need refreshing, this is the place for you. It is quiet and the view is really breathtaking with water on two sides and constant movement of the tides revealing new wonders. It's beautiful even if it's cloudy and foggy. You wake to the constant sounds of gulls with the occasional screech of an eagle or the weird sound a heron makes when it takes off. Sit on the deck and enjoy your breakfast as a deer creeps closer or a couple of seals investigate. It is located about a 10-12 minute drive from St. Andrews where there are wonderful restaurants and shops plus opportunity for adventure like whale and bird watching, surfing and diving as well as hiking, golf and exploring the historic area by car. The hosts, Krista and Jordy are really top notch. They are personable and will do anything to make your stay pleasurable. Highly recommended.
The property was very clean and had everything we needed, including wifi. The cottage is small but situated in a most spectacular spot with a deck that looks out over beautiful sunrises, ever changing tides, an array of birds and Ministers Island. We had a wonderful stay and would come again.
The Artist’s Cabin was an excellent place to get away. Right on the water and separated from all neighbours. Everything we needed was there including internet and satellite. It was also close enough to St Andrews for a wide variety of places to eat and shop. We spent each day exploring the hiking trails and the evenings watching the tides go out. We were very happy with our experience
The Artist's Cabin is a true gem. It is peaceful and quiet. One morning as I was having my cup of coffee watching the tide roll in - 2 kayakers passed by and one stated " That is one amazing piece of property." Yes it is!
You can’t beat the location of this cottage. The view of the tide coming and going is awe inspiring. You can sit and watch it all day. The premises offered enjoyable walking trails that you shared with the local wildlife. So many deer!! There was even a flock of turkeys. :) Although small the cottage provided everything we needed. The hosts were attentive. The only negative was a surprise maintenance visit that happened earlier than expected - not once but twice. All in all we would definitely come again.

Cabin is right on the water, plenty of room, and has all that you need, including wifi and a tv. A cosy spot that is close to St Andrews and a short drive to Saint Stephen.
No better place to unwind than this breathtaking spot and lovely, cozy cabin. Amazing views and at high tide it almost feels like you're floating on the water. Visited by 5 blue herons, a pair of ospreys, a bald eagle, a merlin, harbour porpoise, to name a few of the local residents. And at night - that sky! All of this and just a few minutes away from Saint Andrews too. If you're lucky enough to be able to, book a stay here. Krista and Jordy are great hosts and we hope to be back soon.
We loved our stay at the Artists Cabin. It's attractive and simple. The ocean views are stunning and the stars at night are breathtaking. Many thanks to Krista and Jordy for their great hospitality. Hope we can return next summer!
Best anniversary vacation we could have wished for! Krista and Jordy are great hosts, the cottage was beautiful and has arguably the best view in the area; thank you for a great stay! Colin Smith and Lise Richard
This property is made of magic. The sea and stars create the perfect backdrop
for a retreat of discovery, feeling, relaxation and rejuvenation of the spirit.
I feel so lucky to have spent time here and left with a full heart.
Beautiful property surrounded by the ocean and everything you could possibly need was provided. Ten min. drive to St. Andrew's was a bonus!
We were able to put our kayaks in the water right in front of the cabin during high tide and paddled out to Minister's Island.
Very private location and all solar powered. Completely renovated inside. Bedroom had amazing water views, felt like we were on a house boat.
Quiet and relaxing!
We were lucky enough to meet the proprietors Krista and Jordy. Lovely couple and very attentive to our needs. Close by if we needed anything at all!
We spent two nights at the Artist's Cabin and celebrated our 34th annivery there.
Wish we could have stayed longer, can't wait to come back.
Thank you! Glen and Jill Gardiner

Beautiful spot...loved our "Welconing Team".. sheep that even poised for photos. Best views ever from every room in the cabin. The beach is amazing to walk, and collect all kinds of treasures.
