For golfers worldwide, St Andrews is the Home of Golf – a place they must visit at some time in their life. However, the seven public courses of St Andrews represent only a few of the many excellent courses to be found within a short ‘drive’. Apart from golf, the ancient town of St Andrews is steeped in history, having the oldest university in Scotland, and its large medieval cathedral dating back to the 12th century. For others, the attraction is in the miles of unspoilt beaches, woodlands and peaceful countryside , where they can fish, hike, cycle or generally just explore, freely and uninterrupted. There is also a separate dining room, and an area has been set out as a possible workplace for those who cannot ‘leave their work at home’. Wifi is accessible. Lovely welcome from Gordon and the welcome pack was phenomenal. The kitchen was also very well stocked which was greatly appreciated. We had our dog with us and although the garden wasn't fully enclosed it was a really good large space for our dog to explore. The views from the garden room are just amazing - lovely to sit here with a morning coffee.
Lovely garden to sit in all day with gorgeous views. The beds were comfy, the house was well equipped with everything we could have needed and the hosts were welcoming when we arrived. We would definitely consider booking again.
We loved this property. The owners were very pleasant and responded quickly to any questions we had. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The views were spectacular. I would highly recommend this property for your visit to St. Andrews.
What a special property this is with breathtaking views. Kitchen is well equipped, beds are very comfortable and shower is brilliant.
Hosts are helpful and friendly and there was a wonderful selection of food available on our arrival.
Fabulous stay, thank you 😊
Fantastic from start to finish. Gordon was fantastic. The property is amazing with beautiful views. The rooms were spacious. Will definitely be coming back to this property. Only 10 minute drive to St Andrews
Had a great time. House had everything we needed, views were amazing, even saw Northern Lights. A great place for a short break. Hosts very nice and couldn’t do enough for us. Will defo go back
Excellent space, beds, shower. Lovely ‘welcome’ pack. Superb location. Wonderful, friendly and helpful hosts, Gordon and Marion. Nothing could be improved. Must return soon.
Our hosts Gordon and Marian were extremely helpful and hands on in welcoming us with recommendations and treats in the larder. Glamis Castle is a gem and the town of St Andrews is more than just golf¹
Gordon was super hospitable and kind. Had some basic groceries stocked since we were arriving late. Loved the view down the hill in the countryside. When I come back to St Andrews, I’ll stay here again!
Excellent property with all you need for a peaceful break.Lovely views and great facilities.Communication with owners is great and we had all the details needed to easily find the place and make ourself at home for the couple days.So quiet and just enough out the way to feel away from it all but not miles into the hills. We were also greated with a bottle of wine along with milk cheese and breads, that was very kind of the owners to do.Would recommend this place to friends and family, and definitely book again..
An underrated property that offers breathtaking views and a cosy convenient getaway in the wintertime. We enjoyed the panoramic vistas while we sipped our coffees in the morning, and a cup of hot chocolate around the firepit with the sunset. I almost hesitate to write a review because this stay was such a hidden gem it is torture to spill the beans!! Will certainly be back!
We had the absolute best stay here! Gorgeous views! Comfortable home with everything you need! They even stocked essential groceries so we didn’t have to rush to the grocery store. It was so nice and peaceful to stay here, cook, and enjoy the beauty of St Andrew’s after a long day on the golf course. Highly recommend and plan to return on day! Thank you for a wonderful visit!
Absolutely fabulous in every way. Beautiful home with great view; close enough to St Andrews to head in easily but still give our fresher daughter space. They even stocked some basic food including delicious bread to get us started on arrival. We will be back!
The property was quiet, secluded and very cosy. It had everything we needed plus a few extra treats we didn't expect.
The hosts were lovely. Gordon greeted us and Marion wished my partner a happy birthday then Gordon showed us around and had a lovely chat.
We had issues with our vehicle on the day of leaving and Gordon was very accommodating and treated us to an interesting discussion where we got to hear stories of his life.
5 stars for everything, we will definitely be staying again and we can't wait.
A lovely property with a stunning view! All sorts of experiences from 30 minutes to 2 hours away. We enjoyed golf, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Saint Andrews, Dunnottar Castle and more. Fully equipped kitchen made at home meals easy with grocery nearby. Outdoor fire pit was warm and welcoming at night. Gordon is a gracious and helpful host … the his “pet” pheasant very cool to see so close up! Highly recommend this rental to all.
We had a lovely stay here, the hosts were lovely and very helpful and friendly. Property has lovely views and location is very handy for St Andrews and Cupar where we spent a lot of time doing lots of different things and visiting the many attractions around the area.
The only thing we would say is that the outside garden area was not suitable/sate for our granddaughter due to steep incline she could very easily have gone over a high drop. That said we were out most days and not home to use the space much and it would not deter us from booking again.
We would definitely consider going back again
We spent a great week in this lovely house. Communication from the owners was superb and they were welcoming and considerate - living next door they were on hand and supportive without ever intruding on our time or privacy. Wonderful selection of items in the kitchen and fridge to welcome us on arrival. Extraordinary views from the property. Good access to the local towns and area, and walks out of the door. The roads nearby are minor and require a little care, but nothing unusual. Brilliant space in the house, the only difficulty being the access to the loft space which is tricky and would not suit all guests. But it was great for us and we would love to return!
OMG....From the moment we walked through the front door it felt like our home away from home. The views are to die for and the peace and tranquility is unmatched.
The hosts have seen that everthing you could need is already there. A full kitchen, huge TV, gas fireplace, central heating, remodeled master bathroom, a seasonal patio overlooking the valley, comfortable beds, wi-fi and much more are just a few of the nice touches. Our hosts even provided some staple foods (bread, butter, eggs, cheese, bottle of wine), just to get us started. We didnt want to leave on the last day but certainly would someday want to return.
If you're looking for a place to get away from it all in Scotland this is it. Its also within miles of shops, restaurants, and about 6 miles away from St Andrews old course, amongst others for the golfing enthusiasts. Dont go to this area without giving this rental a chance. Its very fairly priced for the quality and style and your hosts are two of the nicest people you will ever come across.
The cottage is a split level house with plenty of room to relax and unwind. There is a very comfortable living area on the lower level with an enclosed patio attached. There is also a separate dining room and a small dining table in the kitchen. The views of the countryside below are absolutely beautiful! There is also an outside patio area to relax on weather permitting. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and stocked with cooking utensils if you want to prepare your own meals. Our lovely hosts, Gordon and Marion were as friendly and helpful as can be. The fridge was stocked with butter, cheese, milk, a nice loaf of hearty bread, and a bottle of wine! St. Andrews and Dundee are a short drive away and Edinburgh is a 45 minute train ride from the station only 1.5 miles from the cottage. Dinner at the nearby St. Michael's Inn is a must. We will certainly stay in this beautiful place next time we are in the area. Thank you again Gordon and Marion for your hospitality!
Fabulous stay at this cottage in picturesque scenery! Great and comfortable place with stunning views from the conservatory. Ideal spot for visits to St Andrews and the Fife region. Very kind hosts who supplied us with eggs, milk, cheese, bread, and even short bread. Definitely a recommendation!
