  • One of my favourite places in the world, the Royal and Ancient Course at St Andrews, Scotland.

How brilliant is this course...incredible. And if you don't like golf, fine, St Andrews is a cool little town. I'd also recommend the Anstruther Fish Bar just down the coast a wee bit...and I don't really like fish and chips heaps, but delicious all the same.

8/10 Good

Great caravan, will be better once park completed

New caravan, comfy beds, practically spotless when we arrived. Showers were ace. Really well equipped kitchen (utensils, glasses, an air fryer…). USB ports in the living room area and main bedroom. Any staff we interacted with on site were great. Site is in a good location, very short drive into St Andrews. Great wee coffee shop on site. My kids are too old now, but they would have loved the on site play park when they were younger, looks great. On site restaurant was decent, staff were super nice. Highly recommend getting a massage at Driftwood spa on site. Did not realise when I booked just how new the site is, we struggled to find the caravan at first as the road it was on was unfinished and littered with caravans which were still being moved. Felt like we were in the middle of a construction site which did taint the week somewhat with the diggers and workmen close by. There was an awful ‘drain’ smell from the en suite bathroom every now and then, could have been from the work going on at the site disturbing pipes. Poor wifi, but this seemed to be a St Andrews wide issue. No recycling at the rubbish point. Info folder in caravan: QR codes for manuals didn’t work, 3 QR codes at the back took you to the Short Stay website, not local recommendations. Off site spa at St Andrews Lodge Park was decent, didn’t feel very secluded though, the outside area needs a bit of a refresh. Crazy golf on site was fun but could do with a bit of a revamp - it is free tho!
