"I've visited Portage many times throughout my 33 years and have stayed at many of its motels and hotels. This is by far the best. Staff is friendly and professional, it's very clean with great decor, fantastic breakfast, and wonderful pool area with waterslide. Definitely intent to return and wouldn't waste time with other Portage hotels/motels/inns. Only con, you may need to book early and price jumps were significant day to day on booking sites."

"This getaway spot was just what my sister and I needed for a short but meaningful dose of nature and time away from the demands of life. It was an easy drive from Winnipeg and it was lovely to be nestled within the trees with a private beach! This property is a unique spot with lots of green space and privacy! Although the water is shallow and rocky, we still enjoyed kayaking very much which is doable if you go far enough out from the shore (towards the left offered less shallow waters we found). There are two adult life jackets - one large and one small. We needed two large but we made it work. We couldn’t quite swim because the water is so shallow and rocky but we enjoyed just lounging around in the water. Water shoes are a must! Next time we might bring our own portable chairs to sit in the shallow water.The cabin was very cozy and had many amenities. My only suggestions would be to have more light and window coverings. It was very dark at night and we had trouble seeing when we were preparing food and eating. Light over the dining table would especially help. Overall our stay was simply lovely and I’d love to go back.Thank you Darci for hosting us!"

"This was a lovely property. It is well maintained and very clean. I would say the only negative comment I could offer was that although the view is beautiful, there isn’t a proper beach to swim that’s walkable. We definitely would return!"

"Our stay was great. The house is really well stocked and setup, the kitchen has everything you might need. The swim-spa was amazing. The water view can’t be beat. The water is very shallow and the shore is rocky, it is difficult to walk in the water or to swim due to how shallow it is. But the kids enjoyed playing in the sand and finding shells. "
