Great Stay
We enjoyed an extended stay at Otter’s Way in early spring. As others have said, this property is exceptional. The grounds with the ponds are a natural paradise, so much fun to watch and hear the many birds, otters, frogs (and even local cows down the way). The house is comfortable and welcoming with great views and spacious indoor/outdoor spaces. If you leave the curtains open at night, the downstairs bedroom provides a magical view of the stars. The location is a great stepping off point for area attractions. We enjoyed many outings in the area, but also time just spent in our own little valley. Again as others have noted, the house is extremely well stocked, everything you need and more. As seniors, we appreciated the ramp into the house for easy loading/unloading and ongoing access. There is also a grab bar in the downstair (but not up) bathroom. The only caveat we would add, is that the property can be difficult to find, the lane is unmarked and we could not get cell service for our gps when we arrived. Be sure you’re clear on the location and perhaps download a detail map before arrival. Overall, we had a wonderful stay, an easy 5 stars, (my dog gives it a 5 star rating as well)!

Wonderful Stay at Otter's Way
We hosted our family Christmas gathering here. The pictures do not do the property justice. It is simply lovely. My only recommendation would be a sign in front of the prroperty to make it a little easier to recognize the property. While we did not have any problems finding the property, some of our guests did. However, we were very pleased with our stay. We are definitely considering staying again.

Polar Express Weekend

Fabulous girls weekend.
The kitchen is amazing!! It is huge and fully stocked! 6 ladies had the best time here. We laughed and drank wine and walked the creek! It is a perfect fall weekend away!

Clean & Comfortable!
Otter’s Way was adorable - lots of little details and comforts provided including binoculars to watch the otters playing in the water. For an older home, it was well cared for with updates such as Roku smart TV’s and decent Wi-Fi. Lots of places to hang out with the covered back deck and kitchen being the favorite. Responsive host, plenty of room and comfortable beds - we plan to stay again!

The property is very large and peaceful with nice open space. The home is also very large and spacious with a comfortable and homey atmosphere. Kitchen is well stocked and owner is gracious with offering snacks and possible necessities. Easy to find by GPS, even in the dark. Easy check in and entrance. Would love to stay here again in the future!

Quiet and off the beaten path
If you are looking for a place to unwind with the family, turn off the electronics, read some books, play some broad games, and hang out on the balcony, this is it. The kids can still being their gameboys and plug in to the tv, or surf the internet at rural speeds, but the highlight of the home is the fact that it gives you an opportunity to be together as family and friends. The owners are great communicators, and we had no issues whatsoever. The road in and out is narrow at times, so take your time and let the neighbors pass. There is access to the river at the beginning of the entrance to the road in, bring smallish bait and hooks if you want to catch a fish…there were more little guys in the river, and if we brought smaller bait we were sure to hook one. We drove an hour+ to Black Water Falls Stake Park…it was a great short trip and the food at the smoke house in the State Park was great. Highly recommend.

Great get away in the Mountains!
This property was just what we needed for our family of 12 to get together and enjoy the weekend. The kids loved that they had room to run and play, the guys loved fishing, and just being able to sit and relax and enjoy our time together. We hope to return!

A few quiet days away
Otter's Way was a wonderful getaway spot for us! It was really quiet, rather than one of those spots that doesn't show you how close it is to a busy street. The house was well appointed - I love that Cindi had enough goodies in the kitchen that we didn't have to run out and buy salt or cooking oil for just a few days, and we were grateful for the popcorn. The location was great for us - close to the big lakes and close to small towns for visiting, with a large yard our dog absolutely loved. This is not the place to come to get some work done - the wifi cut in and out a bunch which was fine for us but might not be for someone else.

Don’t Hesitate! Book Otters Way!!!
Can’t say enough good things about Otters Way! The host, Cyndi, is on point! Super responsive. She’s got everything you need! My Mother/Daughter weekend was perfect! We had 6 in our party and not one complaint! Decor was well thought out and super cute! So many nice touches and thoughtfulness in her place! Definitely going back!! So much room to breathe and spread out! Not on a main road, very quiet and sooo many stars to see at night! Pet friendly was a HUGE plus for my Golden Retriever! He loved the water and she provided towels in anticipation of just that! How thoughtful!! She keeps things from former guests that made it so nice to not have to go grab from the store, I loved this!! Get away from it all and stay at Otters Way

Best time ever!
The property was as shown in the listing. It was clean, the host very responsive and there were so many extras! The pond advertised was very nice and my grandchildren enjoyed fishing. There was a small rowboat that we really enjoyed. We would go back again!

Great layout
Otters Way is so comfortable, from the covered porch with great views to the gathering spaces in the great room and kitchen. The kitchen is as well equipped as your home. And we all slept well in great beds. Totally charming. AND we had great communication from our host when VRBO’s site went down.

Peaceful country home
This was a lovely, quiet place, that our group enjoyed alot! Cindi was VERY kind, gracious and generous! She included many extras in the kitchen, think coffee, tea, snacks, water bottles, and seasonings for cooking. The beds were very comfortable and there was lots of cozy blankets to enjoy in the living room. It was a place I would stay again!

Nice place with great host
We loved our stay at Otter's Way. Cindi is very thoughtful and helped me out by adjusting the dates a few weeks before our trip and giving me advice about stuff to do in the area. There were some nice snacks waiting for us when we arrived and the house was in very good condition. We especially loved hanging out on the back porch and playing in the large yard. The beds were comfortable and they even had a dog bed for our pup. The kids' room had lots of toys and books that my daughter loved playing with. We had hoped to find more hiking nearby, but that was only a small disappointment in a very nice stay.

Great location. So much to do. Relaxing getaway.

Wonderful outdoor adventure
The house is definitely set up for the kids. There are toys, puzzles, and games that my kids 8s and 5 enjoyed. We used it as a launching point for the C&O canal, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, and Smoke Hole Caverns. The owner checked in several times to make sure we had what we needed and provided some suggestions for our excursions.

We loved Otters Way
Cindi is such a wonderful host and is extremely helpful throughout your entire stay, as well as, before and after your trip! Otters Way is stocked with everything you would need! The only thing you need to pack is your clothes, toiletries, and meals. Cindi provides, sheets, towels, toilet paper and all of the hand/dish soaps. The house fit our crew of 12 people perfectly! We loved kayaking on the river and fishing on the inlet. We highly recommend staying at Otters Way!

Peaceful and Cute
We had a lovely time at Otters Way. Cindi is a great host and a pleasure to communicate with. The area is very pretty and the house is very clean and cute and includes everything you need. The covered porch is a bonus for when it rained and to enjoy your morning coffee. We had so much fun and just relaxed down by the water. Can't wait to come back with the kids. Blackwater falls is a must see about an hour away. If you are up to it take the canyon climb to the bottom of the falls vs the gentle path, I will warn it's not for the faint of heart and takes a while because you have to be very careful, but well worth it. The locals in town are very friendly and food and anything you need is close by. Wonderful location, you won't be disappointed.

Tranquil and Private
Such a great little property, with equally great hosts! The house has a great set up and everything you need is provided, even firewood for the pit! We had a lovely short stay, kids really enjoyed roaming the grounds and exploring near the pond, cookout on the grill and marshmallows by the fire. Would not hesitate to go back in the future or stay at another property by the hosts. Just fantastic.

Fabulous Retreat!
Otters Way is perfect! My family had a wonderful time staying here. It is exactly as advertised plus! Everything was here, from utensils to cookware and paper products. Just needed our food and drinks. Plenty of space to sleep and spread out. Games, books and television and movies to choose from. The back porch has an amazing view, we sat out there the entire week, even when it rained we enjoyed sitting and watching the rain come through. If you are looking for a retreat, this is the place! We came from NJ as our son is an hour away at WVU so it was a perfect place to meet. Thank you to Cindi who was very kind and attentive to all our questions. Don't think twice about booking here, just do it, you won't be disappointed!

Fantastic Hosts!
The property is just as pictured- very homey, on an extremely beautiful plot of land, and very clean and comfortable! It is a very lovely getaway spot. But more importantly, Cindi and Wes were extremely great hosts! When we ran into a minor issue, we had absolutely no trouble getting friendly, helpful, and efficient responses from them. They took care of any small things we asked and were more than happy to do so. We are so grateful for their hospitality and loved our stay, highly recommend!!

Everything was great!
I cannot express how happy we were with everything about our stay. Cindi was very responsive to my questions both before and after booking. By far the best service I have had on VRBO. The house is easy to find and the proximity to the South Branch of the Potomac River was perfect for our canoe float trips. House was very clean and welcoming. They thought of everything a guest might need and we just needed to bring our clothes, toiletries, and food. They even provided a bottle of wine. The kids enjoyed fishing in the inlet and sitting around the campfire pit was so relaxing. Great place to watch the stars. Wifi was stronger than we expected in the country and the Roku TVs were nice to have on a rainy evening when a fire wasn't possible. We usually spend 3 nights tent camping every July in Springfield to float the South Branch but COVID-19 did not allow for tent camping at the usual campground this year. This house was a great option that still enabled us to float the canoes and spend some great days on our favorite WV river. Stay here...you won't be disappointed.

Great escape for social distance
We celebrated our 26th anniversary here and loved every minute. The house had every comfort imaginable and the views!! We fished and we walked. We prayed for our family and our country and our world in these scary times by the fire pit. We picnicked by the pond and looked at properties in the area because we loved it so much. We dreamed about the next 26 years and remain hopeful in our God and country!
