Weekend in CT
We enjoyed our stay for the weekend. We had 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Everyone had room to spread out. There is a full flight of stairs to enter the house and a sunroom that would be nice to enjoy in better weather. Thank you for a nice stay!

Think Grandma’s house…
This place felt like grandma’s old apartment: lots of mid century modern furniture and filled (felt a little over loaded) with interesting Knick knacks. Pros: Huge washer/dryer Nice kitchen 3 bedrooms with good sized beds Nice host with good communication Close to restaurants Cons: 2nd floor with VERY steep steps to climb. A little slippery when raining. Tiny bathroom The furniture is old. A lot of it was leather but the plush couch set my dust mite allergy on high alert. I thought the beds were ok but my husband did not think they were comfortable.

Short Notice stay
We had to book a last minute trip for a funeral and the host was very gracious and accommodating and easy to work with. The house was a great location one was a great space for our family. Very happy with our stay. Decorated very nice.

Charming flat
We were on a short trip to check out schools for our daughter. The host met us upon arrival. He was very friendly and thorough. He gave us insight to the surrounding area and the place had everything we needed. It had a cozy old school feel. Many quality restaurants within waking distance. Within 30 - 60 minutes drive of great museums, beautiful sights, and other family activities.

Nice Central location
My friends and I planned a trip to see the fall colors in Connecticut. This was the perfect central location to head out on day trips from. Bonus, there were restaurants, brewery, and an old fashioned arcade across the street that we could walk to. And 5 minute drive to the grocery store and fast food. The host was very nice, fun to talk to. He also was very fast in responding to my questions before our arrival.

Great stay!
We stayed 3 weeks at Jim's house. It's centrally located and within walking distance of many restaurants, bars and a walking trail. The house was nicely decorated and had a well-stocked kitchen. Jim is an excellent host and it was was very easy to communicate with him. We recommend staying here.

Perfect place when visiting family!
I was up visiting family in CT. This pretty apartment was convenient to everything, and decorated nicely. My 13 year old and I had fun showing each other the unique bowls, figurines, and art pieces. It was comfortable and very clean. I recommended the place to my family and friends, and hope to stay there again when I come up for future visits.

Worked out great for us with there being enough rooms. Able to walk to town center for eating. Quiet neighborhood. Bathroom was small with no counter space but overall was good place.

This was our first time utilizing this type of thing, and I was nervous at first. But I was pleasantly surprised with everything. This location is close to the heart of town, excellent spot! Centrally located and well equipped
This property is centrally located for great tours around Connecticut. It is extremely well equipped with everything you will need. For those with mobility issues the steps to the apartment may be a challenge. After a weeks day it felt like home! James is a great host and incredibly helpful. Will definitely go back

Awesome historical home centrally located
Our family went to CT to visit my husband's hometown. We also wanted to see all of the sites in New York and Boston. This upstairs apartment was centrally located and we were able to easily travel to everything we wanted to see. This adorable upstairs apartment is also within walking distance to many adorable restaurants. We very much enjoyed our short visit!

Great stay, great location
The apartment was very clean, well appointed, and excellent communication from our host. The kitchen is well stocked and everything worked great. Host provided AC window units in all rooms which worked great as we were there on a unseasonably hot spring day. There are a couple of nice living/sitting rooms here as well which gave the impression of spaciousness and comfortable couches for watching a movie! The location is great and many restaurants are within walking distance! Less mobile folks may balk at the steep staircase as the apartment is on the upper level of the house accessible from a deck staircase but don’t worry, just take your time and you will make it! We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again without hesitation.

We rented for a nearby family event. Proximity of apt to downtown Southington was a plus (great coffee / breakfast options). Apt was clean with a eclectic /vintage / colonial vibe. Cozy and met our needs. Owner lives downstairs so it was easy to communicate during our stay

Family Getaway
We were pleasantly surprised with the comfortable beds and all the unique decor throughout the apartment. Everything we could have needed was already provided there by the owner. Jim the owner was very pleasant and very accommodating for our whole stay. We were able to have a great time with our family from Connecticut!!!! We would definitely book this place again..... I always search with a pet filter. Somehow got attached to a listing with no pets and missed the fine print. Was screamed at and was recorded by owner, as well as my minor children. Was really ridiculed and humiliated and kicked out at 9 pm with nowhere to go in a new place. It was an awful experience for a sub par dwelling.

Authentic New England house
It was a nice older home with lots of character in a really cool historical district with a ton of restaurants. There were lots of board games for the family. There is a bike path within a block of the property. We had a great time and would recommend the house to any family.

The place was great had everything we needed and then some !!!
The host was very kind. He allowed us to use his yard as our own. We grilled outside and even could have done more if the weather permitted. We went out with hurricane Henri and our hosts prepared us and told us what to do but thankfully it wasn't that bad. He also allowed our family member to work on his car and use his tool thank you so very much, and if we were to do it again I would look him up in a heartbeat.

James did a great job making this place cozy and inviting. We needed a space for 6 of us to land while in town for a family wedding and this was perfect. Great kitchen to sit and eat in, plenty of comfortable seating in the living room, and several games to keep the 8 and 10 year old occupied. We all slept well and were comfortable even in the humidity with multiple AC units. Thanks James!

Great space and location
We thoroughly enjoyed the space. It was perfect for our family of 5. The living room and kitchen were big enough for board games, television watching and having meals together. Jim greeted us quickly after arriving and gave us a great verbal tour of the town. We were close enough to travel to several areas of interest - Yale, Hammonasset Beach, and Hubbard Park!

Sweet and homey stay
Very clean and well-equipped apartment! It was easy to get in and out with the lockpad and driveway parking was very helpful (especially because the owner shoveled the snow! thank you!). We enjoyed lots of cozy snow days in the living room working and playing board games. For the next guests, I'd recommend bringing ice cream and milk because the milkshake maker and all the milkshake glasses were so cute.

Nice Home Close to Skiing
We rented this home out for 2 nights. It was a cozy place perfect for our group. There were lots of towels and blankets and board games for guests to play. Due to a skiing injury, we only ended up staying one night but James was quick to communicate with messages regarding the situation. The only negatives we found were that one of the beds were slightly uncomfortable and we felt we had to be very quiet due to being able to hear the conversations of the downstairs apartment.

I’m glad you enjoyed your stay and hope your friend is okay. As far as the beds all 3 are the same size, same model bought at the same time. Different people have different preferences as far as firmness goes so I’m glad the majority of you found them comfortable.
