"My husband and I spend a lot of time traveling by motorcycle and have stayed in 50 vacation rentals. This is exactly the kind of place we look for when booking our trips; quiet, clean and comfortable. The house is nicely decorated with everything that we needed to relax at the end of the day. We really enjoyed sitting on the front porch listening to the birds and watching the fireflies. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Mars Hill."

"Loved this downstairs apartment, as it was clean, well furnished and had a nice deck for hanging out. The kitchen also had everything we needed for some meals. I would definitely stay here again. The only slight negative is that the WiFi is slow, but that’s not what you’re in the mountains for anyway!"

"Calling this property “cozy” doesn’t do it justice, even though our stay was quite comfortable. The 360 degree views are breathtaking. We had the opportunity to view the mountains during sunrises and sunsets; clear skies and captivating storms. The property easily accommodated two grandparents, adults, a baby, and two teenagers. To e location is perfect for anyone looking for convenient isolation—the ability to enjoy staying in and popular hiking trails within distances that weren’t unbearable. Definitely recommend this spot."

"There are many reasons why we were not comfortable and why i would never describe the glass house as luxurious. Here are some of the main ones. The glass walls are transparent at night when the lights are on inside. No curtains of any kind. Even the bathroom, which had a swath of dark film around the middle of the glass wall did not completely block the fish bowl effect. The bathroom was cold and incredibly tiny with a toy sized toilet and sink. There was no auxiliary heat. The bathroom door was a set of swinging saloon doors that offered very little privacy from the main room and was about 16” from the kitchen sink. The bathroom threshold was a serious trip hazard. The kitchen had no oven or cook top. There was a weird metal device that had dials and small pans that required a detailed manual to use. There was a plug in single burner in like a junk drawer with other utensils. We brought food to prepare for dinner but gave up on that and drove in to town for a sandwich. The solar power system was undersized causing a power failure. It took several calls to the owner before he finally said to kill the hot tub which allowed the lights and heat to operate. Scratch all plans for a night time dip in the hot tub. Out of concern that there might be another outage we slept in our clothes. With the Murphy bed lowered there was no place to sit other than the two uncomfortable tin metal chairs around the tiny dining table. Theres much more but I’ve run out of characters. "

"I really sincerely want to give a great review but it bothers me to do so. We drove from Florida and 3 hours before arriving we were told that our account had been flagged for payment. We called the bank and they confirmed that the money was taken out. I was told that I would receive a call back in an hour, 2 hours and no call. I called back and the lady acted like she didn’t know who I was. We were able to get everything squared away an hour before arrival. House was clean and decent but the beds were awful to say the least. The couch is not comfortable and fits MAYBE two people comfortably, and the tv in the middle bedroom doesn’t work at all. The bathroom is extremely small. They offer plenty of towels and the sink in the hallway is convenient. We went to ski at the new ski resort and after a long day on the slopes all we wanted was a good nights rest. Very hard to come by at this home due to very uncomfortable beds. My husband even tried to sleep on the couch half the last night since we had a long drive home. The person we contacted before arriving seemed annoyed that we even requested an early checkin. Nothing in the town was open. My 18 yo doesn’t ski so she was looking forward to enjoying the small town. She had nothing to do and only one working small tv on an uncomfortable couch. "
