Doris's Place - Family Fun, Air Hockey Table, Close to Hike & Bike Trails

Get that Tahoe cabin feel with one of our most comfy & organized homes, ideal for 1 or 2 families. With 3BRs, HDTVs, an updated kitchen & a gas barbecue, you'll be surrounded by trees & have quick access to both mountains & the lake, including Heavenly Resort, casinos & dozens of restaurants. Trails for both hiking & biking are nearby with gorgeous views.

This home cannot host more than 6 people over the age of 5. This applies 24/7.

This cabin features a fantastic layout for families to enjoy together time or time on their own. You will love the ground floor living with 2 bedrooms, a full bath & the main gathering area that connects the kitchen, dining room, & spacious living room. The kitchen has everything you need to a make a chef or baker happy, from a brand new oven (installed in Dec 2025) to a plethora of utensils & cookware. The cozy atmosphere & the entertainment of a 50” HDTV is a good example of how this home provides the best of today with the traditional comfort of a mountain home.

The upstairs features a large family room that is an ideal getaway for fun & games, or a quiet retreat. Plenty of comfortable seating & room for playing games, watching the newly-updated large screen HDTV, or competing on the deluxe air hockey table. With a large bedroom, walk-in closet, & full bathroom, the upstairs is a great suite for the kids or family. There is even a Pack 'N Play for the littlest member of the group.

For outdoor activity, you can head out the back or front door. Right off the kitchen/dining room you will find comfortable west facing back yard with large deck for dining, barbecuing on the gas grill, or just catching some sun while reading a book. Plenty of room to create a snow man too! Need more space? Cross the street to enter the National forest trail system for a leisurely stroll or serious hiking, biking, snow shoeing, & X-Country skiing. You can store your toys in the two-car garage too. When you return from your cold hike, a glove & boot dryer will be waiting for you next to the boot rack.

Great Place To Stay

We stayed during summer when the temperature was low 80s during the day and low 60s at night, and although this place doesn’t have A/C it stayed relatively cool for most of the day with opening the windows at night and TONS of fans in the house to allow for air circulation. The place was well maintained with lots to do in a quiet but convenient location.

Luckily, while leaving we were fortunate to meet the reason why the home is always so lovely... Anna, the long-time housekeeper. What a friendly, special, hard working woman. It made our stay even more wonderful meeting her. Another plus is this house uses fragrance free and clean laundry detergent. Keep Tahoe air clean and skip the stinky fragranced stuff. Thanks so much Anna, you ended our vacation on a high note. I also appreciate the RnR staff confirming in advance about this location continuing to use fragrance free detergent.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great place to stay! Very clean, quiet, and got to see wildlife from the front and back yards. Although away from the hustle and bustle of Lake Tahoe, still close to stores, restaurants, and the night life. Really appreciated all the ceiling fans and other fans in all the rooms. A couple of suggestions: a wide mouth toaster and a keurig type coffee maker for single cups of coffee would have been nice. Also, the flames in the outside grill did not get very hot...maybe just needs to be cleaned? Overall, would definitely stay here again. Thank-you all for making our visit such a nice one.

My kids especially enjoyed the air hockey table and all of the great sledding equipment. The access to wide open snow in the National forest was spectacular. Unfortunately, your front stairs were very icy... my wife fell and broke 2 ribs on our first morning of the stay walking down the front stairs of the deck. Please consider putting up some warning signs near the front door. Also, there were a lot of hidden fees on the booking that made the stay much more expensive than advertised on the main VRBO site.

Nice hiking trails nearby and quiet area. House very organized and clean. Neighborhood bear did visit my car and luckily I had left the door unlocked and it didn't find any food cuz there was none. Was a very polite bear, no damage, just a little mud. LOL. Management company very helpful.

Home had large selection of games and puzzles, DVD player, & TVs. We spent the day sightseeing and hiking nearby Emerald Bay. Enjoyed lunch at Cold Water Brewery. Property manager provided instructions and phone numbers in case there was an issue with the property. Highly recommend renting this property!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Been at this home probably 5 times now. Home away from home. Great neighborhood, quiet, other than the Coyote yapping at 2am LOL. Bear went in my car a couple stays ago. Very polite bear. Didn't find anything and left my car in one piece. Very clean home. Best of all, they use fragrance free and clear detergent. No stinky, toxic chemical fragrances on your sheets. Just clean and you can enjoy the pine trees and their true, natural scent they provide us. Enjoy!
