The best area to stay in Souel is the village centre, particularly around the church and the main square.

This area offers a tranquil and authentic experience. The village itself is quite small, with most amenities clustered around the central square, where you'll find a few local shops and a traditional French boulangerie. The historic church is a prominent landmark, and the surrounding streets are quiet, lined with traditional stone houses.

Couples looking for a peaceful retreat will find the village centre ideal. It's great for enjoying leisurely mornings, strolling through the quiet streets, and experiencing genuine village life.

The best time to go to Souel is generally from late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to September, when the weather is most pleasant for outdoor activities and exploring the region.

May and June offer warm, sunny days without the intense heat of mid-summer, making it ideal for walking, cycling, and visiting local markets. The countryside is lush, and many of the region's flowers are in bloom, providing picturesque scenery for couples looking for a romantic getaway.

July and August are the warmest months, great for enjoying the local lakes and rivers or relaxing by a pool. While it can be hot, this period is excellent for families due to the long school holidays and the abundance of outdoor activities available, such as swimming and kayaking. Many local festivals and events also occur during these peak summer months.

September brings slightly cooler temperatures, but the weather remains largely sunny and comfortable. This is an excellent time for those who prefer to avoid the busiest tourist crowds while still enjoying lovely weather.
