The cottage is located just 5 minutes from the lake via Big Creek Marina, 15 minutes from Lake Somerville State Park (Birch Creek Unit), 30 minutes from historic downtown Brenham, and 40 minutes from College Station. This 3-bedroom house sleeps up to 7 guests and is perfect for families, couples, and friends looking for a quiet getaway. ABOUT THE SPACE:
Walnut Cottage is a 3-bedroom / 2-bathroom home, built in 2022.

Downstairs: 1 Bedroom (King bed), 1 Bathroom (full bath with tub)
Upstairs: 2 Bedrooms (one with a Queen bed, one with three Twin beds (triple bunk bed), 1 Bathroom (walk-in shower)
Outside: Firepit and seating area with 6 chairs

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. Staples such as olive oil, salt, pepper, and common spices are provided.

For your morning coffee, we provide both a drip coffee maker and Nespresso with a complimentary starter supply of ground coffee/pods/filters and creamer/sweetener. Tea drinkers will find an electric kettle and an assortment of black and herbal teas.

The cottage is located in a wooded, rural neighborhood right off of Recreational Road 4. There is easy access to nature via the nearby lake and state park, and you may even see some right in the cottage's backyard! We recommend wearing shoes and insect spray outside, and keeping a keen eye out for the critters that call this region of Texas home.
Scorpions, snakes, mosquitoes, and a variety of insects are native to Texas - we can't guarantee you'll see them, and we can't guarantee you won't. We contract with a professional exterminator for routine pesticide services.

While we hope you'll unplug and enjoy a calming stay, the cottage is equipped with reliable Wi-Fi via Starlink. The living room features a Roku TV, on which you are welcome to log in to your favorite streaming services.

BOOKING RULES:

Guest is required to sign a Renter Agreement within 48 hours of booking or within 4 hours if reservation is made less than 48 hours before arrival.
Check-in instructions will not be provided until the Renter Agreement is signed and reservation may be canceled if signed Renter Agreement is not received.

Security Deposit Hold of $300 required. Deposit to be processed by Host on Guest's credit card.

Minimum age to rent is 25.

NO smoking on property. NO pets. NO parties/events.

Quiet hours are from 10PM-7AM.

CLEANING AND DAMAGES:

Excessive cleaning after check-out will result in an extra cleaning fee.
Guests are responsible for damages.
No parties, pets, or smoking on the property.

PLEASE NOTE: CHECK-IN TIME IS ANYTIME AFTER 3:00 PM CST.
Before you arrive, we need to ensure our previous guests have checked out, the property has been cleaned, and that linens and towels are fresh for your visit. To allow time to prepare for your stay, please do not attempt to access the property before your 3:00 PM check-in time.

Check-out time is 11:00 AM CST. Cleaners may arrive as early as 11:01 AM to begin preparing the property for the next guest.

To request an early check-in or late check-out, please message within 24 hours of your check-in date. We will determine availability and do our best to accommodate when possible.
