Warm welcome and so comfortable!
A fabulous stay at this superbly appointed apartment. Warm welcome and very comfortable and quiet and just a short walk into the centre of Somerton with a great choice of places to eat. Super hosting with delightful welcome hamper. One of the best we’ve stayed at and hoping to return to!

Really pleased with our apartment. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. There was also a generous welcome pack. As the apartment is on the first floor we had lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Trish, our host, was very helpful and nothing too much trouble. Would definitely recommend The Mount.

A little gem on the Somerset Dorset border
The glowing reviews for the Mount are fully justified. The ancient town of Somerton is ideally placed for visiting the area and has a useful supermarket to buy food if you want to eat in the well equipped kitchen, although you’ll find tea, coffee, milk and probably a few other goodies awaiting your arrival.
Beechwood apartment is massive with a huge bedroom, very comfy bed and an excellent bathroom plus a separate lounge with a large flat screen Smart TV.
The owner goes out of her way to make you feel at home and provide as much information about the area as possible.
We’ll be back!

Beautiful area, easy walk into Somerton, shops supermarket and eating places.
Peaceful in the house, the whole of the top floor was my space, everything I needed .
The hosts are exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. Great breakfast.
Really nice stay. Basically a suite with bedroom, bathroom and a separate lounge with dining table and coffee, etc and even a microwave. Would definitely recommend.
Very friendly hosts with a lovely home. Top floor is for guest accommodation with modern bathroom incorporating good shower and bath, room for breakfast and relaxing in comfortable chairs, tea/coffee facilities. Lots of tourist information provided. Lovely bed - slept extremely well. Only drawback would be for someone who can't manage stairs - it's up three flights. Lovely views over surrounding countryside.
Easy stroll to main street of Somerton where there are good shopping options (supermarket, PO, specialty, antiques, etc) and several good pubs. Historic town with quite a bit to see; close to Glastonbury, Yeovilton air museum; easy drive to Yeovil, Wells, Bath etc - all through picturesque countryside.
I would definitely return.
Beautiful older style house, that has been tastefully restored, with lovely gardens and a grass tennis court. We had the top floor to ourselves, which consists of two bedrooms, a large bathroom and a kitchen / dining / lounge area equipped with a microwave, tea and coffee facilities, etc. It would be ideal for a family, a group of friends or two couples to share. The breakfasts, delivered by Henry, were delicious and something to look forward to, enhanced by the beautiful views of the Somerset countryside from the window. The hosts, Trish and Henry, made us extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were inviting us into their home!
Our stay at the Mount was a delight in every way. The comfortable accommodations included a bedroom, sitting room/ breakfast room and private modern bath. Trish and Henry were our gracious hosts. All around it was a memorable visit to a beautiful, out of the way piece of the British countryside.
I have never stayed in such a relaxed, welcoming and hospitable environment. Trish and Henry went above and beyond to make me feel so comfortable and welcome.
The room that I had booked was more like a suite with a wonderful breakfast/living room with wonderful views over nearby fields, a wonderful place to have breakfast and start your day. The bathroom had the most glorious bath and shower and the room itself was simply beautiful.
I will never again stay in any other hotel in Somerset than The Mount.
I also think Henry makes the best poached eggs I've ever had!
the purpose of my stay was to attend a wedding in the area. when booking my only real concern was proximity to the venue. otherwise i think i might have been put off when it said the rooms were not en-suite. But this should not have been a consideration, as the room was on its own floor in this large house, and came with a large bathroom with an amazing shower directly next to the bedroom, and a separate living room / dinning room solely for my use.
the house is beautiful and set in a large well kept garden.
When speaking with other wedding guests about our various accommodations choices, everyone i spoke to sounded impressed by the mount (especially when they heard how good value it was).
the owners could not have been friendlier or more helpful if they had tried!
I wish i had more time to relax in my rooms, enjoy the garden, and potter around Somerton itself. I will have to visit again!
This is a family run business. Both the gentalman and the lady are very freindily and helpful. the room is huge and bed is comfortable. the breakfast is superb and is much better than the normal breakfast from other hotels. there is plenty of space for free parking.
What a special treat this was. Unbelieveable in every way. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone. The place itself is so very special and amazing in its setting. Lovely views from the upstairs areas and rooms.
There was always coffee and tea out in a special area for guests. Fabulous breakfast, the full spread. And homemade biscuits to die for. Then, on top of all the that. The NICEST couple you could image to own a lovely home like this.
They were always up for a conversation or to help me. The serenity of the home is amazing too. I loved to go for long walks and drives in the countryside. They were responsive to every possible need I had.
I had a late flight leaving out of Gatwick and they allowed me to extend my visit way into the late afternoon and refused to let me pay extra….
The room was gorgeous and spotless. I had a lovely ensuite on the third floor that gave me wonderful views and privacy. There was a big bath and shower area. I can't say enough wonderful things about this great home and couple. I felt like a king at my country estate. A must visit on anyones trip itinerary. Thank You Trish and Henry for making my stay one of the best. I will be back.
