"Very unique place. A location geared for adults. Every room is themed on a book. Full kitchen to use which was great, considering that we were coming off of 8 days of camping in the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. In the living room and dining areas you are surrounded by book shelves and literature for the activity in and around Lava Hot Springs. Woke up the next day to a continental breakfast laid out. Staying there was just us and another couple, so it was very quiet. Everything was handled online. No staff at the premises. Super easy. I highly recommend it for anyone, and would definitely stay again. Small town vibe for the whole city. And it has hot springs!"

A nostalgic haven beautifully located moments from the Blackfoot Reservoir

A nostalgic haven beautifully located moments from the Blackfoot Reservoir

10/10 Excellent
"Great place and an even greater host! The place was exactly as described on Vrbo. The host was very honest about the water conditions and told us before we booked that the water level was low and we wouldn't be able to access the water from the dock. The host kept us updated about everything and addressed any issues within minutes through text messages or the Vrbo app. The reservoir is about 15 minutes walk from the property, and the neighbors were very friendly, greeting us whenever we passed someone during our walks. There is also a big, very friendly dog in the neighborhood who never barked at us or anyone else. Whenever the dog saw us, they would peacefully walk beside us for a while. The dog seemed to have a limited territory because once we crossed a certain point, they would turn around and head back. We never found out who the owner was.We really enjoyed peaceful breakfasts and dinners in the backyard while watching birds fly over the water or swim. Overall, it was a very fun and relaxing trip."

"Stayed in Room #7. Interior was all new. Bathroom though a tad small, was laid out perfectly, excellent water pressure and good, quick hot water. The kitchen was full-size, full size fridge, stove, microwave, cupboards dishes ect. Very clean. It was off the beaten path by alot and we had a little trouble finding it. When we first pulled in, we weren't sure about the place. The outside was very old, but as soon as we went inside we were happy. The "gem" valley has some very interesting history, we discovered as well. The train passes pretty close and blows its whistle during the day, but at night it does not or perhaps just not close to the motel. All in all a square deal and we will likely stay again. Used it enroute to Jackson, Grand Teton, Yellowstone and ultimately Cody, WY on a summer trip."
