"We had a wonderful stay at Oxford Suites Redding. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Our room was spacious,, with a separate living room and door for added privacy. The location was very convenient, close to theory coffee and Shasta Dam. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again!"

The hostess was quick to answer my phone call when I had a question and provided a quiet and comfortable area for us to enjoy on our anniversary!"

"Room was large and beautifully designed. (Nuthatch) Breakfast was huge and delivered to our door!! And we were able to order an amazing Indian dinner ( my husband and I couldn’t finish ONE meal!!). This was our second stay, but with new owners who did a great job!! We would choose it again if traveling in the area."

"If you like funky little out-of-the-way places to stay, this one is perfect. It's an old motel with many nice upgrades. Clean and homey. The only drawback is that it is close to a freeway, but I didn't notice the noise while in the room -- only when outside. I imagine in the springtime when all the grassy areas are green and blooming, it is even better."

"After 9 years of traveling to Seattle from Pasadena, I have finally happened upon the most peaceful and convenient place to spend the night. The pool is surrounded by pine trees. No neighbor noise at all. Yet, it's right off the 5. It's only 7 rooms, lodge-like, separated into a group of 3 and 4. Only complaint is that the air conditioner was a little loud, because I'm sensitive to that. Wish I could've opened the windows. Also, I always bring my own thin pillow, because I hate big, overstuffed ones."

"It's a beautiful house with a spectacular view. We were 3 aunties and 2 nieces and were easily accommodated in the 4 bedrooms, which have multiple beds. We like to cook together and were grateful that the kitchen is well-appointed, with drawers full of utensils (the dishwasher is the quietest I've ever known). The temperature was in the 100s when we were there, but the house is comfortably air conditioned, and it was possible to sit on the wrap-around deck in the early morning, drinking coffee and gazing at the lake. We ate dinner out there most evenings, too. We took advantage of the house's proximity to Holiday Harbor to rent a boat for the afternoon and enjoy the lake. Lorinne, our host, was very responsive to our questions both before and during our stay. It was a perfect vacation for us and we can't recommend the house highly enough."

Lovely mountain home w/ large deck and forest view

"We stayed at this property for a week and overall enjoyed our stay. The home was clean, quiet, easy to access, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the mountain views, seeing the lights from I-5 in the distance at night, and especially hearing the train whistle from afar.However, several aspects did not match the listing. The deck photos appear outdated, as the deck no longer looks like the pictures shown online. Several boards were lifting, there were a few holes, and guests should use caution when walking barefoot. The two white outdoor chairs were weathered, warped, and unstable due to stripped screws. The hammock shown in the photos was also not present.There was a newer round fire table on the deck, which made a nice gathering spot for meals and card games.The listing advertises air conditioning, but it is actually a swamp cooler. During our stay, the house became quite warm at night, even with the three portable fans provided.While the listing mentions room for boats, RVs, and other toys, much of the property is sloped. The final mile of road is steep, winding, and partially unpaved, which could make maneuvering larger trailers challenging.Overall, we enjoyed the peaceful setting, comfortable accommodations, and beautiful views, but feel the listing photos and description should be updated to better reflect the property's current condition and amenities."
