"Lovely property right across from the harbor! The hosts were friendly and informative, the rental was well stocked, attractive and comfortable.A few areas to improve (but not enough to remove a star): - The bathrooms need more shelf space to store toiletries, particularly the one in the living room - Most of the interior door handles are installed upside down, which makes it a bit awkward to open the doors- The third bedroom has no closet space or dresser (washer/dryer/cleaning supplies take up the entire closet).We also encountered a resident of one of the downstairs units (glass door, not the Captain's Quarters) who was blasting a podcast at 3 a.m. From what we could tell, she is a permanent resident rather than a vacation renter, so it might happen again. We knocked on her door the second night when the noise started again at midnight, and she turned it off."

"The Cedar Field House on Orcas Island is VRBO’s best kept secret! Our stay was absolutely wonderful. The property truly is a peaceful, and relaxing oasis. Sitting in the beautiful and natural landscaped garden surrounding the ground level the patio felt like a healing and meditative embrace and the expansive and vast view from a top the wrap around deck is beyond stunning and promotes such a calmness. The setback positioning of the house on the property sets the stage for a quiet escape. You’ll love bird watching and seeing the horses in the neighboring pasture The house offered plenty of room for our family to spread and claim individual quiet spaces yet also to come together for meals, games, and lounging around in community. The kitchens were well stocked with all the basic cooking supplies one needs and the furnishings were thoughtfully chosen and placed to promote both socializing and restful relaxation. The house is centrally located and just a short drive to the beaches, the tourist main strip of town filled with galleries, shops, a grocery store, and eateries. Moran State Park was a short drive and definitely worth visiting as it offers hiking trails to scenic waterfalls, lakes, and views atop Mt Constitution that won’t disappoint. The host, Larry, is an excellent communicator and remained available, if needed, through out our stay. He thought of everything and shared useful tips for getting to the island and tourist activities and resources prior to our stay."

"This was the third year my wife, two kids, and I stayed at Apfel Haus for our August vacation, this time with another couple and their son. The house and grounds were, again, peaceful, private, and a joy to be in and around, both while relaxing and while working. The kitchen is spacious, well stocked, and fun to cook in. Our kids loved to visit the goats and chickens every day. The hosts, as before, were responsive and super helpful when we had a question or needed something. It's a wonderful place."
