"We had a delightful stay at the beach house. We loved the seclusion. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The back yard and deck were so inviting and peaceful. Being right on the shore was a big treat for us landlocked Utah and Colorado people. Friday Harbor had a nice variety of restaurants and shops but we enjoyed the Lime Kiln State Park and lighthouse and whale tour the most. We were lucky to see two orcas—the brothers—at the park, 5 orcas on the tour and a humpback at the park. The islands are more beautiful than we expected, the people we met were helpful and friendly and the weather was perfect. Couldn’t ask for anything to make our get-away more spectacular!"

"Lovely property right across from the harbor! The hosts were friendly and informative, the rental was well stocked, attractive and comfortable.A few areas to improve (but not enough to remove a star): - The bathrooms need more shelf space to store toiletries, particularly the one in the living room - Most of the interior door handles are installed upside down, which makes it a bit awkward to open the doors- The third bedroom has no closet space or dresser (washer/dryer/cleaning supplies take up the entire closet).We also encountered a resident of one of the downstairs units (glass door, not the Captain's Quarters) who was blasting a podcast at 3 a.m. From what we could tell, she is a permanent resident rather than a vacation renter, so it might happen again. We knocked on her door the second night when the noise started again at midnight, and she turned it off."

"This property is about 5 miles from Friday Harbor so I would not suggest walking onto the ferry unless you plan to bike to it. There are taxis available but the are extremely expensive. The San Juan Island winery is 2 1/2 miles away. In the summer they have live music on Saturday nights. The other thing to note is that there a lot of stairs in this house. The property management company was excellent. They responded within minutes when we needed something. There are beautiful views from the deck although it could use a little TLC as some of the boards were a little sketchy. There was a small firepit on the deck which made it nice and cozy in the evenings. Overall I would highly recommend this property."
