As such, it is well placed for walking, touring or cycling direct from the door. Grassington is a lovely village with a selection of individual country shops, pubs and restaurants catering for both pub grub and fine dining tastes. In summer the village plays host to the Grassington Arts Festival with famous musicians, comedians and presenters appearing, and in winter it holds the Dickensian Festival to really get you into the spirit of Christmas.

Just a short drive from the bustling market town of Skipton, known as the ’Gateway to the Dales’ where you will find a wide sweeping, cobbled high street with a Norman castle standing proudly at its head. Skipton has a large selection of shops, pubs and restaurants together with canal trips, golf course, indoor swimming pool, fantastic play park and tree tops walks. Alternatively, the genteel spa town of Harrogate is half an hour’s drive and offers both high street and high end shopping. Not to be missed is afternoon tea at the renowned Betty’s Tea Room. The National Trust properties of Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey are a short drive and make for a full day out. After all of this, relax and kick back in front of a roaring open fire. Shop, pubs and restaurants 700 yards

Family escape to Grassington
Norman's Nook is a cosy cottage within a very short stroll from the centre of Grassington. Cottage provided us with everything we needed to have a lovely break. We were slightly confused with the booking system, we thought that we had booked through VRBO but seemed to find ourselves mostly dealing with Cottages.com or on one ocassion Hoseasons. We didn't receive any accommodation details prior to our visit and had to call during our journey to the Yorkshire Dales.

Close enough, but out of the way!
Cosy, quiet property, just on the edge of the centre of Grassington. Easy walk to the village centre. Comfy beds, kitchen needed a few more wine glasses!
