Several Frustrations for First Vacation Rental
Cute but major frustrations with Vacasa and VRBO. Unwilling to refund even the cleaning fee due to HAZARDOUS conditions getting out of my town to get there when i tried to cancel, so finally make it 2 days into my 4 day reservation, scary drive, i'm exhausted and arrive to find almost 2 feet of snow and an unplowed long driveway and i had to beg a neighbor in the community to plow for me. Snow shovel was hidden behind garage, then after all that getting to the front door, I was given 2 different lock codes and the "lock box" didn't exist. I called VACASA who was very very rude when i called for the right door code, freezing in 7-degree weather unable to get in. Broken towel holder in bathroom, light bulbs out, back bedroom light switch turned nothing on and was dark, slider doors hard to slide. The main one had no window coverings and faced the street. Awkward at night! Hot tub was nice but it's on the street side as well. Bed spread tattered. All in all it's a cute home, and appeared well loved in the past, but needs some help and they need to plow the driveway for guests in the winter! Esp when the HOA plows the access road! If you plan to go in the winter and there is a lot of fresh snow, bring your own snowplow :-( Vacasa and VRBO owe me for plowing that! Esp only staying 1/2 the paid days.
Maybe it's better in the summer, I don't know. For my first vacation rental it was an unpleasant experience.
