•Winter here goes way beyond the slopes. Yes, you can ski or snowboard at Keystone, Copper Mountain, Arapahoe Basin, or Vail, all within 35 minutes. But you can also mush your own team of Alaskan huskies through alpine meadows, snowshoe through deep forest to a hidden waterfall, tube down groomed lanes at Frisco Adventure Park, rent fat bikes for a snowy trail ride, or lace up your skates on one of the largest outdoor ice rinks in the country, set right on a frozen lake at 9,300 feet.

•When the snow melts, the fun just changes shape.
