"Arrived at a family friendly Pub/hotel just outside of the Lake District. No frills, ie not touristy, but staff (Sue, Dan and .....) helped me out with plans for visiting the area."

"A lovely cottage and a safe garden for our dog. We had a relaxing stay and the beach nearby is great with beautiful sunsets, and a bonus of a cafe on the sea front. Limited off lead dog walks from the cottage, but the coastal walk is ok if you don't mind walking your dog on a lead. The Minors Arms, a two minute walk from the cottage, is dog friendly, but does not serve food."

"Stylish cottage that manages to be remote and well connected both at the same time. It’s a little bit out of Silecroft which has a lovely beach and beach cafe but not much else ( even the lovely local pub doesn’t serve food). But on the other hand it’s not far to Millom which is pretty well served, including a decent sized Tesco and also, being just off the A595, is convenient for all the western and southern Lake District. Hot tub is in a private little courtyard and kitchen is perfect for two with an induction hob with proper pans, not just those cheap ‘all purpose pans’ that allegedly work with induction hobs but don’t do it very well. In other words nothing is done on the cheap so not bad value."

"Kingfisher Rest cottage was excellent, it had everything we wanted, it was comfortable, well equipped, a real home from home,. Most importantly was its position on the banks of the estuary and views across the bay, with a lovely patio that we could sit on an have our breakfast and dinners on. Even if it was too cold to sit out the views from the patio windows both up and downstairs were stunning."

"Lovely comfy cottage warm and snug. I could spend the rest of my days sat on the balcony! Good food at the Harbour Inn and the Ski bar. The dog loved the walks on the beach a lovely lovely place xx"

"I loved my stay at Shore Meadow in the snow. It was warm and cosy if a little tired. The beds were very comfy, I did not want to get up, I had the bedroom with the fantastic view or Black Combe, it was covered in snow right down to the bottom of the valley. Silecroft beach in January was a delight for the dogs. It was not possible to go very far into the Western Fells a wonderful place to be. I only have two negative points could the kitchen have a pair of kitchen scissors please? the rug from the dining room into the living room is a trip hazard."
