"Right on the main restaurant and shopping area. Made to feel very welcome. We arrived on a Thursday which was perfect timing due to the street market from 4:30 to 9:30. Beacon Street is closed off and local food, produce, jewellery….etc set up stalls. The hotel provides a continental breakfast from 06:30 to 10:30. A great place to stay before returning to the mainland on the ferry. The ferry is only 10-15 mins away. Two minutes away from the pier. "

"A welcome rest for three days after working our way down from Campbell River. The hotel is in a great location and has plenty of cafes, restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We did not eat at the hotel as we wanted simple fayre in the morning and search out different cuisines via Trip Advisor. We had a two Queen bed room on the 2nd floor overlooking the ferry harbour area. Although the room was very good, after three days we found the beds a bit too hard and left with aches in our backs. Having two queen beds in the room did make it a bit roomy. Overall, a very good stay and we really enjoyed our visit. Thank you Grand Pacific."

"The Location is perfect so you can walk to lots of nice Restaurants. I like the Ladies shopping with all the Boutiques. Like the lobby of the Hotel where you can have free coffee, lattes, etc, cookies and juice etc. out all day. The breakfast was also very good. I especially liked the little Ukrainian gal who was looking after the breakfast area. She was so friendly. We have come once a year in August for 3 years now and there is nothing I don't like. Tks. "The Fairmont Empress is a five star hotel. The staff are amazing, the area is amazing, the hotel itself is impressive. Do yourself a favour and spend a couple nights. Be sure to attend High Tea. "

"First, when I was checking in, they upgraded me to a better room- what a lovely surprise! The room was very nice, and the view was nice too. They made sure we understood how to access the parking area, and showed us some areas in Victoria that I was interested in on the map. If I had one small issue, it was that their pillows are very big and dense- not something I am used to- I likely should've asked if they had softer ones available. Everything else was FABULOUS!"
