Holiday with the extended family by the pristine coastline of Port Stephens in both levels of this modern duplex, just 200m from the sandy shore and crystal clear waters of Shoal Bay Beach. The beautiful beach curves 2.5km around the coast from Tomaree Head to Nelson Bay and offers calm bay waters perfect for swimming, kayaking and stand up paddle boarding (available for hire every day during the high seasons of school holidays, long weekends and Easter). There are BBQ facilities and picnic tables along the beachside reserve, and less than 1km further along the foreshore, you can climb Mount Tomaree for spectacular views from the summit. Right on your doorstep you will find waterfront eateries, bars and shops, including the popular Country Club Hotel, and just a 5-minute drive brings you to the township of Nelson Bay. Come and experience Shoal Bay, one of the prettiest coastal towns Australia has to offer!
This renovated, air-conditioned duplex entails 2 levels of living that are each completely self-contained and able to be accessed externally. This makes it ideal for extended family groups, two families, young adults, couples or friends. However, there is no internal access between each floor, so please keep this in mind when booking with young children of those with less mobility.
Each level features an identical layout and inclusions. Open plan living leads out to the wrap around balcony so you can relax either inside or outside on one of the outdoor settings, looking out at the distant water views. The living areas each boast 2 leather lounges and a leather chair, a flat screen TV, WiFi and a 6-seater dining table, and the contemporary kitchens come fully equipped with stainless steel appliances including a large 2-door fridge, dishwasher, microwave, oven and rangehood.
The 6 bedrooms are all beautifully decorated with soft furnishings and ceiling fans. On each floor, the master bedroom features a queen bed and a flat screen TV, the 2nd bedroom has a double bed and glass sliding doors out to the balcony and the 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds. Each level boasts a full bathroom and a 2nd toilet, so there are 4 toilets in total. The modern bathrooms offer a great place to rejuvenate after a day out adventuring, each with a deep soaker tub and separate rainfall shower, and a laundry on each floor offers a washing machine and dryer, plus the guest toilet.
There is off street parking for 3 cars and space for an additional 2 cars via street parking. There is also enough room for boat parking.

The property was wonderful generally. All our guests noted that the beds were very comfortable. We did notice a couple of things that do require attention.
It was noted in that there should have been 8 coffee cups on site in apartment 1 and there was only 4. The highball glasses were all mismatched.
When we attempted to watch a dvd in the provided player in apartment 1 we noticed that the HDMI cable was not able to be connected as one end was frayed. We borrowed the HDMI cattle from apartment 2 and were able to get the DVD player to connect to the tv. Unfortunately when we went to put the DVD into the machine the eject option was not working. A little frustrating!
Also it would be handy if more than one tea towel was provided. Mitts for the oven would also be good.
The view and location of the property were absolutely stunning—no complaints there. However, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. The beds were quite small and not particularly comfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep. Having adults share a double bed for this accommodation is not acceptable, especially when there is plenty of room to accommodate larger beds in the rooms.Firstly, asking for the security deposit two weeks before check-in felt excessive and a bit out of the ordinary. Then, upon arrival, the property wasn’t even ready—cleaners were running behind schedule, yet there was no offer of a late check-out to compensate. It felt like the focus was purely on turnover, getting guests in and out as quickly as possible.Communication was another issue. We received multiple messages about returning keys… even though we were never given any keys to begin with. The whole process felt completely disorganised.For a property hosting 11 people at a premium nightly rate, we expected better. There were minimal supplies for adults, not nearly enough toilet paper for the duration of our stay, and very little provided to help us maintain the space to their standards. If guests are expected to look after the property, then at the very least, stock it properly to make that possible.With better management and attention to guest needs, this property could really shine—but right now, it's not living up to its potential.

Could not ask for a better location. Beautifully furnished clean and tidy. Even though we had rain all weekend the only thing that dampened our weekend was trying to arrange a late check out. It took three separate occasions of me calling and trying to use a link that never worked and being told to try the link after 4pm it should work. I was eventually told after they spoke with IT that there was a problem with the link and they processed it over the phone. And when I went to the office to pick up the keys for the property I was told “I have given you both sets of keys they SHOULD open both upstairs and downstairs, if not just call the office or call back in”. That didn’t give me a lot of confidence that I would be able to get in.
