COVID-19 may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't put the brakes on our appetite for exploring. Here are a few tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Before locking in your flight, find out if any travel bans or restrictions apply — in both your destination and origin. Get up-to-date information by reviewing government travel advisories.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. Be ready to adjust your mask for identification purposes when asked by a TSA employee.
• Instead of handing a TSA employee your boarding pass, position it directly on the scanner yourself. After that, hold it up for inspection.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on bag. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to take it out of your bag for screening.
• Remove items from your pockets, like your wallet, phone and small change, and put them in your carry-on instead of into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Keeping food separate from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
