On cleanliness: our use of the main camp bathroom Sunday night met us with a surprise. A small frog crawled out of the sink overflow. It was caught and thrown outside. Ironically, another frog crawled out in the morning as well and on Tuesday there was one in the shower. No one was in the office to inform. There must be an open-air sewage pipe since the frogs were in the drains.
Other than the frogs, the bathroom was clean. The cabin was clean. Sheets were super soft and comfortable. The mattress caves to the middle. One AC unit for both rooms so if hot, you can't close the bunkroom door.
After a warning by Vrbo that there was a potential threat to our safety because of a wildfire near Living Springs, we tried to contact them.
The property was under a mandatory evacuation order until the day before our reservation. Air quality warning for the area was also a significant concern.
Neither Vrbo nor us received timely responses to our emails.
A day before our trip, Vrbo gave us a cancelation number and said they were cancelling our reservation and giving us a refund. But the owner refused saying they were not anywhere near the fires.
We were lied to several times.
Several of our family have asthma and poor air quality could cause serious health issues. As such, four of our party did not travel with us and had to make other arrangements. Smoke on Monday morning was obvious in the camp and on Tuesday it was very bad. Our concerns were justified.
If you go here, be cautious

The grounds were beautiful! We loved the waterfall and stream! There were wild blackberries along the trail to the waterfall. The owner was friendly and accommodated us when we had to extend our stay due to car trouble. There are several cool projects he's working on. We would definitely stay here again.
It was a great place to stay with the family and explore lassen national park. The beds were great, the picnic table and campfire were fun, and the showers were free while we were there!

A nice cabin with very basic amenities. It has no bathroom, but makes use of a public one nearby. The bathroom is the main problem here, as there aren't enough toilets for all the residents around. You actually need to wait in line....In addition, the rooms are very small, and the air conditioning is very loud. Otherwise, it was fun there.
Nice place, for the most part quite and a secret waterfall that was fun to visit. Host there was friendly and asked if we needed anything.
Only negative was the host decided to park their tahoe right behind our cabin where we were trying to relax after a long day and left in running for about 45 mins to an hour before we had to get up and say somethimg. Apparently a dog was inside but nobody comes to the forest to hear and smell exhust from a tahoe. Have some common sense!
Also the host let off loud shrilling fireworks in the campsite. It scared all of us as we didnt know what was going on. Later found out it was for their sons birthday. Thats all fine and all just a heads up next time or maybe not the loud ones would be nice. Again just some common sense and let people know. We still enjoyed our stay but the end kind of ruined it for us. Wouldn't stay again.

Nice helpful staff, great mid size frig, microwave, very close to national park, easy to find. Be mindful of shared bathroom/showers (is a campground), kept clean, pay for hot water (understandable as everyone shares hot water, $0.50 per 3 min), no hairdryer that I could find. Clean cabin, no TV (reminder), bed sagged in middle but ok, cabin had AC if needed. No real restaurant in 2 mile away Shingletown so be prepared with food. Enjoyed staying, will have some screaming young kids near until about 8 pm, beindfulss that is the camping life.
We wanted to be close to Lassen NP and this was in a perfect location. The cabin was very cute and clean. This cabin was very close to the bathroom, so that was definitely a plus. The camping area was quite lovely, but we arrived so late, we hardly had time to really enjoy any of it. My only issue was the price; with all of the fees and taxes, it was a bit pricey for camping. I realize that the cabin can accommodate six guests, however, it's still a camping cabin. But, if you are looking to visit Lassen and you need accommodations close to the NP, I do highly recommend!
