This is a beautiful old mansion that has been lovingly restored and decorated. There’s personal service from the owners. The breakfast was amazing. It was a unique experience, and we loved it. Very, very classy.

What an exquisite and delightful place to stay! A traditional bed and breakfast hosted by a gracious couple who provide an elegant breakfast (and charcuterie board as an extra one evening) in a charming setting. My daughter and I felt like royalty while staying here! It was also a short walk to downtown and boutiques/restaurants.We look forward to our next visit.

Attention!

Nous avons loué une chambre pour la nuit du 16 avril dernier au gite île de Garde au montant de 212,40$, (252$ avec taxes) affiché sur Expédia. Tout était parfait, l’accueil, la superbe maison, le petit déjeuner exquis et l’entretien avec les hôtes charmants. Quelque peu avant notre départ j'ai demandé au propriétaire si tout était réglé puisque j'avais donné ma carte de crédit à Expedia/ Hotels au moment de la réservation. Il m'a répondu 'oui' et que nous pouvions laisser la clé dans la chambre. Parfait. Sur le chemin de retour une demi-heure plus tard madame notre hôtesse m’appelle et me dit que la chambre n’était pas réglée alors je me suis excusée profondément en lui donnant ma carte de crédit. Quelle surprise quand j'ai reçu mon compte de carte de crédit. Le montant de ce séjour d'une nuit devait être de 252$ or le montant sur ma carte de crédit, 290,66$, a été gonflé illégalement de 37,91 $ de plus. Ceci représente près de 18% quand on calcul les taxes sur 212$.  J'écris donc au propriétaire et on me répond que le montant était exact puisque j'avais laissé un pourboire! Faux. Nous n’avons jamais été sollicité pour laisser un pourboire. Nous n’avons jamais autorisé ni par écrit, ni verbalement la perception d’un pourboire pour l’occupation de la chambre. Par la suite j’ai demandé des explications au propriétaire mais on ne m’a jamais répondu. Devons-nous conclure que maintenant les pourboires sont obligatoires même sans notre consentement pour l’occupation d’une chambre?

Wir waren nun das 3 x im Ile de Garde und sind wieder super zufrieden gewesen. Rustikal eingerichtete Zimmer mit eigenem Ambiente. Gastgeber die das wohlfühlrn einfach machen.
