This was our second stay at the Hobbit House. We enjoyed the cozy getaway with convenient access to Shenandoah National Park. Exploring during the day and coming back to a relaxing hot tub and fire was great. The hosts have provided many thoughtful touches. Listen to the recommendations on the listing—pack bug spray and a flashlight and you’ll be ready for adventure!
Really clean, meticulous detail, everything was comfortable and cozy. I was so surprised. Felt like a high end hotel, but was this charming hobbit themed house. Also, the neighborhood is cool, with a pond and a nice kids play area just down the road.
We stayed at the Hobbit House for a week. We had a great time ! The house was clean. All instructions are in the welcome binder. All switches and lights are well marked. The landscaping in the yard was A+ ! Loved the torch lights and the swing. Nice area to walk around. We would recommend to anybody !
The Hobbit House charms you from the first look. The property feels warm and welcoming. With cozy sitting areas and luxurious amenities.
We had everything we needed to enjoy having meals together. Soaking in the fabulous hot tub on the screen porch was wonderful. It is fun to see all the special touches that are all around you. The surrounding trails, Gator lake, children's area, dinosaurs, etc. are also all very well done. I would love to revisit the Hobbit House!
Very nice, unusual cottage. Comfortable for two or three. Well maintained inside and out. Secluded, but in a community of cabins. Other cabins are not visible from the site. Surrounded by trees and undergrowth.. Whimsical objects all around. Nice covered and screened patio, gas grill, fire pit with wood supplied. Wood stove inside. Two floors, bedroom and main bath upstairs, half bath with unique potty downstairs. Small kitchen with pretty much everything you need. Do bring trash bags and your choice of coffee and teas.
The Hobbit House at the Cabins at Deer Run is close enough to Luray yet feels like a getaway with the forest curling around the property. Take advantage of all the amenities, including the blue light (no spoilers!) Be sure to read all the information that the hosts include before your stay so you are totally prepared. Bug spray and flashlights are recommended for your comfort. The experience is "glamping" at its finest. Being close to nature with all the creature comforts. I think a hobbit would approve!
This cabin was just 2 hours from us and the perfect hobbit-themed backdrop for my husband's surprise 40th birthday. He was thrilled when we pulled up to the hobbit house!! (and shocked when I procured a Hobbit House cake!)The hot tub was great, the home was perfectly clean and had everything we needed, the cabin "neighborhood" was quiet and had some beautiful touches (trails, pond and swing). Our corgi was obsessed with the screened in porch offering a near 360 view of the woods, bunnies and woodpeckers. The king size bed was comfortable and the day bed below was perfect for my 12 year old.The cabin is filled with tasteful LOTR touches. Gandalf's staff hangs on a wall, the LOTR dvd trilogy was left for us to binge (we did), the bathrooms were themed and very nice, the small kitchen table was perfect for elevenses. The cleaning instructions were some of the most modest that I've seen and I appreciated just being asked to strip the beds and put the trash out. It made the morning of our check-out an easy and leisurely experience. We also washed the dishes and straightened up.The only tiny issue we had was keeping the place warm :) It got cold at night and the heater couldn't quite keep up, and most heat travelled upstairs. We did get a fire going which was really nice and enhanced the coziness of the whole place. All in all, we would definitely return! Bring your capes and elf ears and whip up some po-tay-tos!
Everything was amazing. We wish our stay had been longer but that just means we need to visit again soon. The decor is of course amazing and so nice in person. Thanks for everything!!!
Everything about the Hobbit House impressed us. Excellent attention to detail in the design & decor. Wonderfully cozy & clean. Loved that it was still decorated for Christmas! We immensely enjoyed our stay here & highly recommend.
Our stay was too short to fully enjoy the property. We did use the hot tub - delightful. And we loved the small touches throughout. Best part was the seclusion. Next time we’ll have to plan a longer visit.
10/10 experience. We stayed here for my boyfriend’s birthday and absolutely loved the property. The hobbit house is located in a cute community with other cabins. There is a small lake, shared pavilion,
Amazing stay! This was my second time staying at the hobbit house. The house is absolutely perfect and has everything you need! We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen( haven’t used the outdoor grill yet) and relaxing on the couch watching movies. I enjoyed seeing the deer around the property and would drink my coffee watching the rabbits every morning. This trip came at a time where I needed to relax and this was the perfect place to stay. Thank you so much and we will definitely be back again!!
We had such an incredible time staying at The Hobbit House. The manager was so responsive and everything was handled wonderfully. We will definitely be planning another trip again soon!
This cabin is everything as advertised and more. It is the most beautiful and unique I have ever stayed at! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a magical and unforgettable experience
This was our second stay at the cabins of deer run. Very thoughtful touches and details throughout. We had everything we needed during our stay. We really enjoyed the trails and all the outdoor amenities. Great place.
