About this property
Family Matters Cedar Cabin near Pigeon Forge sleeps 8 quiet yet close to action
A Premier Host property!
ESCAPE to the MOUNTAINS for a much needed getaway in this gorgeous cabin located near Pigeon Forge (4 minutes to the parkway). This quiet and warm hideaway is just what you need for time away with family or friends. This cabin sleeps 8 with lots of room and comfort. The master bedroom has a huge four poster king size bed, while the 2nd lofted bedroom area has a king size bed and a separate trundle bed under a twin bed. The living room has a pull out sofa sleeper in the couch. All mattresses are new as of the fall of 2021 with memory foam mattresses. Sleep in comfort. Plenty of room for the whole family! It has two bathrooms so there is plenty of room for everyone to get ready for seeing a show in town! Family Matters even has an enclosed porch right off the kitchen with lots of windows to just sip some coffee or tea in the rocking chairs while taking in some fresh mountain air no matter what the season. With a fully equipped kitchen, spending time together doesn't have to be costly. Cook dinner in or on the charcoal grill and spend the evening playing one of the games that is right there in the cabin or while watching a favorite movie on Netflix or streaming cable. It has wifi as well for streaming the shows you want. This cabin is perfect for getting away from it all, yet being close enough to be in all the action within minutes. It provides the best of both worlds. And, you can pack light because there is a washer and dryer right there to wash things up before you head back home. Family Matters offers free Wi-Fi and also has an air hockey table, many games, and an added arcade machine for those days that may find you in the competitive spirit. Parking is located directly in front of the cabin (only parking for two vehicles). Linens are provided. A starter supply (1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, etc.) of toiletries is provided. No extra cleaning fees other than one listed in quote. Everything is included in rates quoted. (Any damages will be extra. This cabin is a non-smoking, no vaping, and no pet cabin.) Please bring your own personal care products like shampoo, soap, and teeth care items as those are not provided.
Please note this is a mountain ecosystem. There are bugs, scorpions, snakes, spiders and other wildlife. Most likely during your visit, you will see and encounter one or more of these species, some on purpose and others not on purpose. The biggest question we receive is about scorpions. There are two types of scorpions that are native to the Smoky Mountain area. Neither of these are poisonous like the ones out west. They can sting, but it is equivalent to that of a wasp or bee. While we treat our home for all possible species available through a professional company, scorpions are still able to climb up drain pipes and enter the home. If you see one of these, please do not panic. Simply step on it with your shoe and dispose of it. There is also spray under kitchen sink. They tend to be more active during hot and dry spells, looking for a source of water. So your odds of seeing a scorpion are higher during the summer months when there has been minimal rain. Also, while there is a fireplace, it has electric log system. We ask that you do not burn wood. It causes a fire hazard, and we do not want soot in the house due to people having allergies, plus it is messy. Thank you for following this request.
Rates vary by season. Please see calendar for more information.
A note from the owners - bought Family Matters in 2015 after visiting the area multiple times every year for the past couple decades. After looking at well over a hundred homes, we came across this cabin named Family Matters. It seemed perfect from the get go simply because our family matters so much to us. After seeing it in person, it really fit all of our needs and criteria. We love spending time with our family here and making new memories together. We hope that your family will find it to be a good fit as well. We hope that you all enjoy it as much as we do and have a wonderful trip to the area!

Cabin was really nice. Very clean. Decorated for Christmas. Which we enjoyed!Easy to find. Host was quick to respond to any questions Parking was a little awkward but we had enough space
Loved the location of the cabin close enough to town to get around quickly but just outside enough to not deal with heavy traffic if you needed to make a quick run out to the store in the evening. The road was very quiet very little traffic! The cabin had everything we needed and the host quickly answered any questions we had! We took a few business cards to share with our friends and will definitely book for our next trip!
This location was perfect to everything we wanted to do. The property was as listed. We had no problems at all would recommend and would be staying there again. Next time I come into town.
Cabin in the woods feel, yet close to Pigeon Forge
Our entire crew, including teens, young adults and wee ones enjoyed the cabin charm and comfort of "Family Matters". Hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed the holiday decorations as we stayed for Thanksgiving. We spotted several possums at night and even a deer one morning! The air hockey table, board games and arcade were put to good use.
The cabin was very comfortable, clean, and in a great location. The only thing we had trouble with was the parking it was a very tight squeeze literally parking in the road even though we pulled as close to the cabin as possible.
We had a blast at this wonderful cabin. This was perfect for me, my wife, three year old, and eight year old. The kids loved the arcade game and the air hockey table. Cabin was very clean, and had everything we needed. Just a couple miles from downtown Pigeon Forge. We would most definitely stay here again.
Our small family of 3 absolutely loved this cabin! The location was great, close to the fun but far enough from the noise to be peaceful. We loved the new shower downstairs! All the games available were a real treat for us. We may look for this place again.
The property was very clean and well supplied. The property owner was immediately responsive to our questions and resolved them. The location of the property was on a quiet street, beautiful wooded surroundings. We would strongly recommend this property for enjoying the activities in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg as well as just some peace and quiet get away time.

Home away from home
We had a quick weekend getaway for my husbands birthday. It was awesome. Loved the area, so easy to get to. The place was so clean, and well laid out. I will defiantly be looking into staying here again. Thanks for a stress free weekend. :)
We stayed here as a family of 5, with children ranging in ages from 10-15. This cabin was perfect. It was VERY clean. The cleanest VRBO rental i think we've ever had. Location was perfect - close to everything. Owner was responsive. Couldn't have asked for anything more. Air hockey table has seen better days, but we still used it a lot and had fun. The two large beds were VERY comfortable. The twin size ones, not so much - but the kids with their young backs didn't complain. We would DEFINITELY stay here again if we come back to Pigeon Forge.
Perfect size for our family. It was clean and comfortable. My boys had their own room and bathroom in the loft. The kitchen was stocked with everything you would need if you were going to cook. It had full size washer and dryer. It was in a quiet area, but close enough that everything you want to do is a short 10-15 minute drive. The only drawback was parking, we only had one car so it was not a problem but there is only space for one and no where close to park another one. We are definitely staying here again!
The perfect cabin if you’re looking for quite but yet close enough to the the attractions of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. All the amenities are provided in this clean and comfy ‘home away from home’.
From booking the cabin, to any questions we had, to checking in, to being clean everything was perfect. Def would stay here again.

Weekend getaway
Overall stay was ok, however the setup, and being able to have access to the cabin when we arrived was horrible. Had to wait on hold for VRBO, in the cold, to contact the host, to get her to open our door, and then set it up with my code
