The cabin’s location is fantastic — within about 30 minutes you can easily reach Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, which made exploring the area very convenient. That said, the cabin itself has several flaws that made our stay less comfortable than we had hoped. There were no dressers or hangers in the closets, which made unpacking for a week-long stay difficult. The master bedroom’s bed was extremely noisy, squeaking with even the slightest movement, and the living room furniture was uncomfortable, with some pieces appearing broken or heavily worn. The game room was another disappointment, as the air hockey table was broken — a letdown for the kids who had been looking forward to it. The biggest frustration, however, was the gas fireplace. We were excited to use it, but it wouldn’t light at first. Customer service was excellent and quickly sent Will to help, but even after he got it working, the fire would only stay lit for about 10 minutes before going out, no matter the flame setting. Overall, we did enjoy our stay thanks to the great location and responsive customer service, but the cabin itself could benefit from some much-needed updates and repairs.
Cabin is a solid 3 bedrooms and very comfortable for our family. Location is excellent. Short drive to two wineries and moonshine spirits. Easy drive to the visitors center through back roads and short drive to Pigeon Forge. So plenty to do nearby. It is on a road with other houses so not secluded but it is a quiet area. Not ideal if you are hoping for a very secluded location, but would great for anyone who wants a spot off the beaten path but still close to lots of activity. House was clean with plenty of towels. It was a bit cold when the temperature dropped but we found extra blankets and space heaters that worked very well. Hot tub was clean. Get groceries before you arrive as there isn’t a store very close.
The theatre and game room were neat. The kids enjoyed it. There are no dressers, chest of drawers or hangers for the closet. They send a list of items that you’ll need, make sure you bring those things because they DO NOT have them. If you plan to cook you’ll need to bring all of the items you need including any salt and pepper, can opener, larger pots and pans. The items they have to cook with are limited and small.
The only true problem we had was that the air conditioner was not working properly when we got there. We weren’t sure the first night because it was cool, but by the second night it was obvious that something was wrong. I called at 5:30 and left a voicemail. Again at 6:15 and left a voicemail, again at 6:30 and spoke with someone. I checked in with them at 7:30 and still hadn’t heard from maintenance and we finally heard back at 8:30 that maintenance would be there first thing in the morning. By the next day the wall unit was leaking and it was still noon by the time someone came out. I had to call twice that morning to get someone. After maintenance came out they had to call HVAC. It didn’t seem like it was being taken very seriously. I know things happen and they had a lot of other units out, but there wasn’t any communication or sense of urgency. Once the air conditioner was fixed, the rest of the vacation was pretty good.
The cabin is gorgeous. It was immaculately clean. We are a family of four. There were plenty of towels provided. Couches are comfortable. Our teenagers loved the game room and theater. Bedrooms are spacious with king size beds. The last bath is huge. Has a big back deck with gas grill. The fire pit is wood burning so keep that in mind if you plan to use it. Location is good. Just a short drive to Pigeon Forge with good roads and a paved driveway. Just an FYI you do have to go up a few steps to get into the main part of the house no matter which way you go in. They aren’t steep or hard to climb but they are there if you have someone in your party that has issues with stairs. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would stay here again
