Anantya Serengeti

Anantya Serengeti

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed for 2 nights in July. Anantya Serengeti was so well maintained and clean. The hotel was situated in a beautiful location, which encouraged animals to roam the grounds. The first night, we encountered two buffalos. The second night, a family of thirty over elephants walked infront of our room. The bedrooms were spaced out to give privacy. The breakfasts and dinners were delicious, however the packed lunches were not good. One incident marred our stay, where the rangers had set fire to the land opposite the lodge. Smoke engulfed the entire property for a few hours from dinner to midnight. This caused me an allergic reaction to the smoke, which entered the tent. The hotel staff and operations manager had to frantically ensure the fire did not spread to the hotel. Better coordination with the rangers should be done in the future. Any fires should be done during the day when all guests are away."

"Danny is the perfect host. He took care of everything and did so much to make our stay special. With Bush side breakfast and dinner with a campfire along with a perfect sundowner, he and the staff ensured our stay was extra special. And of course, Denis our safari game driver made sure we saw everything that one hopes to see in the Serengeti… leopards, cheetahs, hippos, elephants, giraffes, gazelles, impalas… even a serval cat, along with a huge pride of lions full of cubs. Incredibly special place and more than worth it."

When is the best time to go to Serengeti?
The best time to visit the Serengeti is during the dry season, from June to October, for prime wildlife viewing, or during the green season, from January to February, for wildebeest calving and birdwatching. Many travellers prioritise the dry season as it offers the best opportunities to witness the Great Migration, particularly the dramatic river crossings in the northern Serengeti. During these months, the vegetation is sparse, and animals congregate around water sources, making them easier to spot. This period is also excellent for seeing predators in action. For those interested in a different kind of wildlife spectacle, the green season, specifically January and February, is ideal. This is when the wildebeest calving season takes place in the southern Serengeti, attracting a high concentration of predators. The landscape is lush and green, and it's a fantastic time for birdwatching, as many migratory species are present.
