Very Special!
Gayle’s place is simply divine! My group (four of us) actually discussed going up north and coming back just to enjoy the pastoral beauty and peace of Gayle’s place, which was spotlessly clean, very private and very comfortable. Because there no light pollution at night, we could star gaze, which was a lovely surprise. Gayle even left us some of her farm’s bounty to enjoy (and we did!). I didn’t actually meet Gayle, but her hospitality was very much in evidence throughout our stay. A Very Special experience.

Beautiful rural setting
We stayed in a modern 2 bedroom cottage set on a well maintained farm with rolling fields, horses, cows and a friendly dog. The cottage was perfect for our stay while visiting relatives in nearby New Plymouth. The host met us on arrival and was very friendly and welcoming. The unit was well maintained and supplied with all we needed for a comfortable stay. About 12km from downtown New Plymouth. I would highly recommend it and would gladly stay again. Two thumbs up

So relaxing
This location is ideal when you just want quietness around you. I really enjoyed the stay with my friends there. We went on hike on the same day and it was just an ideal location to relax and it is not that far from the city. Thanks a lot that we could stay there

Stunning and relaxing
The cottage was beautiful on a very quiet farm. It had everything you needed. On a farm with amazing views but a very short drive to town. While I went to work the family just relaxed and enjoyed some down time.

We really enjoyed our stay with my family. The place was everything we hoped for and more. Everything we needed was there. The house is very well equiped and decorated. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. My daughter enjoyed spending time with all the animals at the farm, but especially the dog Rikki and the chickens :). Thank you! The Wilson family.

A Comfortable country stay

Family trip
Both Te Awa and Te Maunga units are modern, cosy and have everything you could possibly need for a getaway. The views and surroundings are spectacular and peaceful. The hosts are lovely and it was great being able to spend time with their dogs, cat and horses. We will definitely be back.

Rural idyll
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very warm and comfortable with a lovely rural outlook. We enjoyed opening the French doors onto the sunny patio. It was 10-15 minutes easy drive into NP.

Homestead heaven
A lovely, eco friendly home. Beautifully designed home.Ricky, the lab mix is a sweetheart. You will need a car as you are a bit out of town. The countryside overlooking the horse and cow paddocks is beautiful. Washer, but line drying.

Due to little girl breaking her wrist prior to going unfortunately unable to get back there again. So peaceful and quiet but yet not far to werd you like to visit. We both wanted to see wonky cat again as well as the othet animals. Huge thanks to Gail for allowing us to visit another time.

A truly relaxing place to stay

Everything was excellent except we had no hot water to start with. This was rectified quickly. Also would have been nice to have plug in facility for our plug in hybrid car. The owners were not Aware of this anyway but for future reference this will be a far more common occurrence.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it had everything we were looking for.
The impression of the property was amazing and the atmosphere was so relaxing. I would recommend it to anyone. We were very happy with the property and our stay there. It was such a relaxing place to stay in and it wasn't far from town. Another thing to is thank you for the fresh eggs in the fridge and allowing us to help ourselves to the veges that were in the garden . So thank you again for your awesome hospitality.

Sunrise view stunning!
Gorgeous sunrise views, well worth waking up for… if you can tear yourself out of the comfy bed! Warm & cosy, lovely linen, decor & an amazing shower. The place struggled with 5 adults having showers, hot water ran out for the 5th person and didn’t heat up for hours, it tripped the metre as well, this was fixed immediately. Place is perfect for no more than 4 in our opinion and not a biggy, but dishwasher was not unloaded. Good parking, friendly pets, tastefully done. Treat yourself this place is lovely!

We would rate this as the best place we have stayed at. The place has everything you would need, and all of it is top quality. The kids loved the animals? The adults loved the peace and quiet, the view and the bath. Thanks for the milk and eggs!

Loved it!
As soon as we walked in we thought wow!. Lovely, relaxed location, awesome view, and amazing decor. We enjoyed our walk to the river and the watching the horses. We'll always have fond memories of Mocca the cat who my grandaughter said was dancing :).

Gayle is a nice host
Nice property and the host just lives next door and pretty nice. The property was not really cleaned up when we showed up, and the host was very far away. But she managed to get her daughter to sort it out in about an hour. She offer us another day to stay for free which i think it is very nice.

Great country retreat

Te Awa Cottage a special place to stay.
Our family enjoyed a really special break-away from suburban life and an opportunity to enjoy the countryside. Te Awa Cottage is modern, fully self-contained and immaculately furnished in true country style. We were welcomed by the friendly owners and loved their friendly pets! Will definitely book this Cottage again.

We loved our 3 night stay with the 2 kids. So warm and cosy on a verey wet weekend. Our 8 year old was in heaven with Ricky the dog, Mocha the cat and Diego the race horse. She even got to help feed out one morning before we were even out of bed! Loved the view, the feel and the location. Couldn't have asked for anything more. We're definitely going back.

Great place to get out of the rat race
Very good accommodation, everything that was needed, 10 minutes to CBD, great place for the kid's. Ricky and the cats plus the horse's etc entertained them for hour's. Awesome views was very relaxing, thanks very much.

Awesome stay
We had a wonderful time at this property. Gayle and Greg were excellent hosts, our boys loved Ricky (the dog) despite not being ‘into’ them before our arrival (they also loved all the other animals too. Great to be on a farm with all the animals and the river for swimming. The cottage is very clean and very well finished and like others before us, the fresh eggs and milk upon arrival were great.

Enjoyed staying here for 2 nights. Very quiet and peaceful. The cabin was extremely well appointed - absolutely everything I needed, and more. Very comfortable, large size. Would definitely return.
