"I stumbled upon Sombea during a trip through Southern Germany, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. The staff is helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the restaurant is delicious. If I find that my travels take be back to the Schwarzwald, I will be staying at Sombea again."

"The house was large for Europe, the host, Carolin, was very attentive and accommodating. The beds were arranged in an interesting manner to fit in 14 people, but it worked. The location is great, close to a grocery store and town. The “hot pot” had been updated from the photos and took a long time to heat, so plan accordingly. The outdoor fireplace was wonderful. It was lovely to have a washer & dryer on site too. (Need Google translate to operate) The trash/recycling/compost situation was confusing so good luck, but Carolin was helpful with that. We never turned on the T.V., so you know it was a great trip. I highly recommend this property if you’re visiting the Black Forest or surrounding areas. "

"We had a wonderfully relaxing stop. Well positioned for the train station and for exploring the area on the train. The room was very comfortable and clean, the pool area very inviting and the breakfast had a good variety. The family run establishment would do everything they could to make the stay more comfortable if you asked them. Not the hotel’s fault - but note that although it looks like there are lots of establishments around for dinner they don’t necessarily follow the hours you see on the internet. The hotel did have to help us out one night when all the restaurants had closed early since they were not so busy. I would recommend going out early to eat."
